Yeah, what they've been doing with Show Morgan is so much better.

I'm sure a lot of show Morgan's greatness is a direct result of Lennie James though. He sucked the viewer into caring about him and Dwayne right from the get-go.

Just finished AOW.
The conclusion was a bit... odd... in that Rick and Negan come to an understanding (and it feels a bit out of character for Negan to be so up for it because I was expecting he was leading Rick on and then he'd attack first or something when Rick's guard is down) and then Rick just attacks him out of nowhere - then later goes on to say that they're going to be better than him.
It all felt very convoluted in a way. Maybe I was foolish for expecting it to be one big battle over a whole volume, but instead it was like "battle, break, battle, break, battle, break" which felt pretty inconvenient.
Worst part is that I've heard it's downhill from here, but I don't think I'm gonna quit. Got 6-ish volumes until I catch up so I might as well just get those too or I'll feel unfulfilled.

I mean, I don't know if I would say it's downhill from now on, because the story is at least somewhat interesting, but what makes it "meh" is that feels like the comic is just continuing for the sake of it, and doesn't have anything to say anymore.

Seriously though I am so done with Walking Dead at this point. The show is the only series that I still care about following, and even then, not by much. I'm not particularly angry or anything, there's nothing wrong with what happened, it's just, you know, now I have less reason to care.... so... yeah

So who thinks that Andrea actually got bit? I wanna believe it, but with all the shit they pulled with Glenn in the TV show and Tyreese earlier in the comic I'm betting it's probably just a scratch or gunshot wound. Though I will give props to Kirkman if he decides to go through with killing her off.

Kirkman has said in the past that that might work to stop a bite, and it would make the walkers even less dangerous than before, which is where Kirkman seems to be going.

True. plus it would make sense seeing as the tagline for issue 167 is "Can the inevitable somehow be avoided?".

Well that's bending the rules a bit don't you think?

Eh, sucks, but for me nothing much has changed. It was all about Negan before that issue, it continues to be all about Negan after.

Negan used to be cool. Now he's an overused meme.

Yeah, I'm officially out. TWD has become so calculated, it really hurts to go down this route. But the creativity levels hit rock bottom with this issue, everything felt completely hammered in, the story is dragged out (nothing really substantial happened the last 40 issues, the whisperer arc could've been done in 12), the characters feel like cardboard cutouts acting like their former selves... the story has no direction it's headed in, everything feels completely pointless!
You can't keep it hopeless and punishing forever, because that does not make a very rewarding reader experience. Just end the story at a fitting point - this story should've ended after All Out War - and start a new story with new characters, like Magna! That way, you can explore new themes and places without the story becoming nonsensical. The saviors are the enemy again, everything is set to 0 and the giant money making machine that Walking Dead has become will continue to go on and on forever - it has become like the Marvel movies! Andrea wasn't killed because her death lends momentum to the series or because her character arc was finished; she was solely killed for calculated shock value. God, Kirkman, come up with something new, this is unreadable.
Sorry for the rant, it's just hard to see my favorite comic going down this route. It's slowly but surely become a giant stinking pile of shit after the timeskip. The video game has gone to shit, the TV series has gone to shit, this whole franchise has become a huge shitshow and it has crumbled under its own mythos and success.
