Yeah, I'm officially out. TWD has become so calculated, it really hurts to go down this route. But the creativity levels hit rock bottom with this issue, everything felt completely hammered in, the story is dragged out (nothing really substantial happened the last 40 issues, the whisperer arc could've been done in 12), the characters feel like cardboard cutouts acting like their former selves... the story has no direction it's headed in, everything feels completely pointless! You can't keep it hopeless and punishing forever, because that does not make a very rewarding reader experience. Just end the story at a fitting point - this story should've ended after All Out War - and start a new story with new characters, like Magna! That way, you can explore new themes and places without the story becoming nonsensical. The saviors are the enemy again, everything is set to 0 and the giant money making machine that Walking Dead has become will continue to go on and on forever - it has become like the Marvel movies! Andrea wasn't killed because her death lends momentum to the series or because her character arc was finished; she was solely killed for calculated shock value. God, Kirkman, come up with something new, this is unreadable. Sorry for the rant, it's just hard to see my favorite comic going down this route. It's slowly but surely become a giant stinking pile of shit after the timeskip. TBH, I'm not sure how any of you have made it this far. I was out as soon as they started the Negan redemption arc and put some heads on spikes.

The video game has gone to shit, the TV series has gone to shit, this whole franchise has become a huge shitshow and it has crumbled under its own mythos and success. Ah come on! Reset? Bullshit, well at least comic Andrea was several universes better then the TV version, but yeah that sucks. I agree, the show sucks, comic sucks, game sucks, real shame but the series as a whole is kinda dead to me. Depressing how the last thing I loved about this series was that one off issue Alien.

I'm out.
...In spirit. My mom still reads the series so now she's basically just started giving me the money to pay for Walking Dead on my preorder list... so, I'll still be picking it up month to month, and since I am, I may as well read it. But uh, if not for that, I would be out.
But I actually thought issue #127 was a well written issue, and it convinced me that Andrea's death does have some kind of meaning in the larger context of the story. I honestly think Walking dead is on the way up.
Shame the last character I actually cared about is dead so I really have no investment in the story anymore :/

Also, totally agree that Walking Dead should have ended at All Out War and just started with Magna and her crew as the new main characters. Maybe, MAYBE after a decent number of books they run into Alexandria, but we stick with their perspective and see how Rick and Andrea and the rest are perceived through the eyes of our new main characters. That's what should have happened, but it didn't. And given what the larger thematic point of Andrea's death was, it looks like we're with rick for the long haul. Time for this series to limp ahead for another 140 issues at least. I expect there will be some good moments, some bad moments, but I've honestly lost all enthusiasm for this series.
Oh, and just a note, I take issue with all of you saying the TV Show is terrible now. Season 7 was actually really good, ans I'm looking forward to Season 8. Maybe they'll learn from Kirkman's mistakes if they keep going past Season 8?

I still think the TV show is ok.
But I've also started rewatching Breaking Bad, so I can't help but compare the two in my head as we wait for Season 8...

It was the worst paced of all the seasons, I mean did we really need two episodes of getting guns for the lame Mad Max people just for them to turn evil? I'm out of the show, the game is basically dead to me, and the comic is now pointless to me. But hey if they get that guy who wrote Alien back then I might get interested again.

(I love the idea that Brian K. Vaughn is "that guy who wrote Alien") Yeah, that's a fair enough point. I can see why the Show is losing people. Still, I think it's doing well enough, and really, Walking Dead for is the characters, and I think it wil be a while before I quit on the show since I still care about Morgan, Tara, Michonne, Rick, Ezekiel, and to some extent Carl. (and Maggie and Jesus but they're kind of starting to lose me).

And credit where credit's due, Ezekiel is a really good and when he's around the show is better. Shame that he didn't get a ton of screentime compared to Negan who may or may not have gotten a tad too much screentime. Also I liked Richard... until they killed him off in a really lame episode. And the less said about the Mad Max people the better, I seriously want to know who's idea was that?

Hold up, did Andrea know about Carl killing the kid that she took care of with Dale?
I was really hoping they'd at least mention it before her death.

Kirkman said she found out off-screen during the time skip. Yay
