I have finished Episode 2. It was pretty good.
I liked how the recap was done. It's been a month now since the Diaz brothers were on that bus. And they've been living in this cabin in the snowy woods while learning to control Daniel's power. The little guy's also been dealing with a sickness problem. I like the new jackets they got from a thrift store Sean mentioned in his journal. Though, they do seem pretty worn and torn from traveling through the woods. The dice game they came up with is actually creative and fun. I ended up losing and Daniel did a pretty cool drawing of Mushroom on my backpack. Oh, Mushroom... FUCK, I can't believe it. She was only a puppy, and she ends up being killed by a fucking cougar.
Damn it, why you gotta do this to me!?
After we buried her, we traveled to this small town, Beaver Creek, where their grandparents were at. And the next door neighbor of Chris Eriksen AKA Captain Spirit. I'm glad they let us stay, despite what they knew about what happened in Seattle. I was feeling a little skeptical about why they were being so secretive about Karen's old room. But, for the sake of keeping a roof over our heads and food on plates, I tried to leave it be. I even got to play with Stephen's train model for a bit. I heard that firecracker (that I let Chris use on the snowman) blow up while I was in the middle of drawing. And then we finally get to pick up where we left off when Chris ran out of the house after Charles yelled him and Daniel saved him from falling off the treehouse. I was really excited to see him again and to see how he and Daniel get along. I'm glad that Charles came out and apologized to his son.
The next day, the little brother just goes and plays with his new best friend. I really like the Superwolf face paint Chris did for him. And I pretty much expected Daniel to make him believe that he really did have powers. When he had me guess which of his toys was hero or villain, and I felt like the game was testing my memory from my adventures with Captain Spirit. Before that, I did take the opportunity to check on the news and Brody's blog. I liked how discreet he was about mentioning how he helped us and express regret on not coming with us. I also decided to call Lyla. It's not like they can track home phones, right? But yeah, Lyla seems to be taking this whole thing harder than I would've thought. She even said that she's on medication. I wonder if maybe she'll go as far as to try and track us down.
Turns out, Captain Spirit and Charles really do go Christmas tree shopping. And the Silver Runner and Superwolf got to tag along for the ride. My main concern was that I only had $4 from replaying the first episode and spending too much money just so Daniel would have plenty enough to eat. The game would not let me progress unless I got something for Daniel. And I was left with no choice but to steal a yo-yo from a donation box. Man, I felt bad doing that. I also met this cool street singer chick named Cassidy, and her bandmate Finn, and their dog. Didn't like the way Finn was looking at me. Something just seemed off with him.
After we got done Christmas shopping, Daniel and Chris played together for a little longer while Sean and Charles had a little chat of their own. And as much as I didn't want to, we ended up having to go be nosy at Karen's room. Managed to find the key without asking Daniel to use his power to open the door. There really wasn't much to find. Except for the recent letter about how she asked her parents to help them and send them to her place. I don't know how I feel about that. The letter makes it seem like she genuinely wants to help them, but what was the reason why she left them in the first place? And that's when we got busted for being nosy. Things really got tense quick and I had to help Stephen from being crushed by the cabinet after it fell on him. Someone also called the cops on us and we had to haul ass outta there. I wondered if it was someone from the market. Chris was nice enough to show us a better way to escape from the cops and even gave Daniel his spirit cape. Until we meet again, Captain Spirit.
The plan hasn't changed. We're still going to Puerto Lobos. I'm curious if the brothers' mom, Karen, will try to find us down the road, or if we'll run into her. Finally gave Daniel his early Christmas gift. And he even gave Sean a drawing of his cool bro. And now, the Wolf brother are taking Cassidy and Finn's idea for using a train to keep moving. The preview for the next episode looked like that it was gonna take place inside a greenhouse with the street performers. Wonder if that's their hideout.
MY CHOICES:Sean- I threw the snowball properly. I wasn't gonna be a dick and throw it directly at Daniel, or even Mushroom.
* I let Daniel kill the cougar. I thought he was gonna send it flying, but instead he just snapped its neck or something. I was gonna intervene and keep him from using his power, but then I was worried Sean would get hurt. Either via vicious cougar bite or Daniel's power.
- I prayed with Claire and Daniel. I'm not religious, but I played along just for the sake of making her and Daniel happy.
* I confessed to Stephen about Daniel's power. He's family, and I know he can be trusted. If they wanted to call the cops on us, they would've done it as soon as we showed up.
- I didn't help with extra chores. Oops. I wanted to be a real helping hand around the place. But, I guess I was too eager with progressing. I did do the laundry though.
* I told Daniel he did the right thing when he saved Chris. And he wasn't wrong, I totally would've done the same thing.
- I logged into the profile online. Had to know how everything else is going on while we were in hiding. Especially Lyla and Brody.
- I used the phone to call Lyla. God, that talk was very emotional.
- I gained Chris's trust and didn't ask about his father. Didn't seem right with me. Was more interested with playing along with his imagination.
* I told Daniel to stop lying to Chris about his power. I feel like it's better to be honest with him rather than make him think he has some power that he doesn't.
- I listened to Cassidy's song until the end. It was pretty good. I even gave her some money.
- I drew zombies for Chris. He had his own thing with spaceships going on at his "fortress".
* I told Daniel not to get involved with that guy after how he acted with Cassidy and Finn. Can't risk using his power in public.
- I stole a Christmas present for Daniel. A mistake I will fix once I replay the first episode.
- I didn't get involved with Charles' problems. I didn't want to make the conversation with him too personal.
* I let Daniel use his power to help Stephen and he wasn't hurt. Not too badly anyway. This was a real emergency to use that power and now Claire is in on the secret.
- The cops didn't chase us and Chris helped me escape. Apparently he can end up getting hit by a car. Thank God I prevented this from happening.
Daniel- He did not continue to swear. That boy is too young to be swearing.
- He won the dice game without cheating. Yeah, don't think I didn't notice that die suddenly rolling like that, boy.
- He killed the cougar. Poor kid was so upset when he did.
- He was able to bury Mushroom properly. I still can't believe that she got killed like that.
- He agreed to prayed. He was pretty sweet wanting to do it for Esteban and Mushroom.
- He wasn't asked to help with the chores. Again, oops.
- He obeyed and told Chris the truth about his power. It's better this way, I believe. I'm glad they still remained friends.
- Overall, Daniel was encouraged to use his power. Maybe it's because I didn't want to be tough on him or seem like an asshole.
- He didn't have to save Chris. Props to him for helping us escape.
- He didn't blame anyone since Chris was fine. I'm glad they got to know each other.
- He enjoyed his early Christmas present. After what just happened, he deserved some holiday cheer. Merry (Early) Christmas, Daniel.
