Can't believe I didn't see that twist coming, but it makes so much sense! The whole time I thought Ishmael was Big Boss, but I thought Venom Snake was a fourth clone instead of the GZ Medic. So then that means that Solid Snake actually kileld Venom Snake in Metal Gear 1 and 2, and we never saw the real Big Boss until MGS4, where he actually dies.

Yep, it's one hell of a twist alright. I actually got it spoiled for me on the internet before I beat it, which was annoying, but it was still done really well. I love how there's a paternity test done with Venom and Eli, and they find out that Venom isn't Eli's father, leading Ocelot to the conclusion that Eli isn't actually Liquid, but once you know that Venom isn't actually Big Boss it all makes sense.
The Big Boss in MG2 is the real BB though. The credits state that "Big Boss' Phantom"(Venom) is killed by Solid Snake in 1995, which is Operation Intrude N313, Metal Gear 1. The real BB was recovered and revived by the Patriots after being burned by Solid Snake in MG2.
Even though I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see more of Outer Heaven, I think it's really cool that in MGSV, all the Diamond Dogs stuff is basically building the foundation for Outer Heaven, and then you can go back and play Metal Gear 1 as Solid Snake destroying Outer Heaven and killing Venom.
Also, was Episode 43 amazing or what?! Having to shoot your own men, the soldiers you extracted personally, even the one who seemed like a survivor until the last moment, and the room where the infected soldiers all salute you as you put them down one by one with the Peace Walker theme playing on a casette tape...
I am disappointed that we never really got to see any "descent into villainy", though. And the huge plot hole with Liquid and Mantis just being out there with Sahelanthropus, never being brought up again because for some reason they cut the mission from the game. And the fact that there was supposed to be an entire third chapter, called Peace, which never came...

That's the only part that pisses me off, but to be fair the collector's edition DVD wrapped it up pretty nicely.
And yes Mission 43 was awesome. It felt so bad having to kill those people because like three of those guys were S+ ranks for me and pissed me off alot. Sucks though there's no way to get the MGS3 sneaking suit. I was so hyped to find it after seeing it in the launch trailer.

This video is worth a watch, be warned though it gets really sad at the end.
To be honest I thought they were gonna visit David Hayter's house at the end, but that was so sad. I haven't been this touched by a gaming company since Gearbox put a kid who died of cancer in Borderlands 2 as an NPC.

The sheer size of this game is fucking nuts, been playing it for 30 hours doing loads of side ops and not much story (Im on mission 11) and I'm only 12% through it. This is gonna take a while.
I got the game today, enjoying it enough so far, although I don't like how silent Snake is.
Also have this.
That's one of the few complaints I had about this game. Kojima said that it was an attempt to try and make the player more immersed in the game, but there's plenty of other ways that he does it that making Snake almost silent was not necessary.
