It just feels weird that there isn't an actual voice. I suppose it's better than in Dishonored or Half-Life, where they try to characterize a silent protagonist. I don't know why, but I really liked Corvo in Dishonored. As for why I dislike voices on created characters, well mostly because I imagine the character as being me, which is hard to do when you hear some super gruff voices coming from your character. I liked Corvo too, but mostly because of the characterization I gave to him in my head. The game doesn't characterize him much. Or at all, really. His only characterization is from things that happen before the start of the game... And I suppose that's a valid point... Personally, I would prefer for the character to have a voice, but I can understand why others wouldn't.

I think the thing I'm most excited for is the feeling of wonder and newness that comes with playing Fallout or Elder Scrolls for the first time.

There is not much quite like it, and I love it! Oh man... can't wait to spend literally untold hundreds of hours on this game like I did every other Bethesda RPG!

If it does come out this year, it's the only game I can think of, that might steal Goty from witcher 3. Maaaybe except new Batman. I'm hyped as fuck

I'm not one for big open world games. I ignore most of the shit in Assassin's Creed games, just playing the main story. There was nothing to do in Watch_Dogs. I stopped playing both Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas because they were overwhelming... I think Witcher 3 is the only big open-world game where I've wanted to do a lot of the stuff that's in the game.

I have a feeling it'll be 2016, based on past releases. But I certainly wouldn't mind if it came out this year.

And picking best game is going to be like picking your favorite child, I can't do it!

Never been a fan of Batman or Witcher, but I've been getting into Fallout more (Got 3 and New Vegas on PC last month). I hope to finish them by the time Fallout 4 comes out.

Good fucking luck I say to that. Those games are time vampires, and just when you beat it, you instantly get the feeling of wanting to play it again, and then you do, then the cycle continues. And one day, you look back, and realize you just dumped literally hundreds of hours, and you didn't even know it.

Well, Fallout 4 has become available for Pre-Purchase on Steam... yeah. Seems like it might be coming out this year after all. I'm gonna wait until we have more info on it. I'm still hyped as fuck but I don't wanna spend 60 bucks on just the Fallout name, ya know?
And speaking of Fallout (Obviously, given this is the Fallout thread) all Fallout titles are going to be on sale this weekend for up to 50% off in some cases. Gonna use this opportunity to scoop up Fallout 2 at last, I've been waiting for this for a while.

All I know is that Tony Jay voiced a Super Mutant in the first Fallout, and that there is an insane super boss named Frank Horrigan in Fallout 2 that is insane.

Same, I am going to break my preorder vows that I made after Aliens Colonial Marines came out two years ago.

Piked up Fallout 2 like I said I would. Found some explosives in the tutorial level and hilarity ensued.
I was planting them to blast through a door and set the timer on the explosives for 20 seconds, then ran away giggling like a little girl at the thought of the impending explosion. After reaching a safe distance I noticed something odd about the explosive I planted... It wasn't at the door. In fact I couldn't see it anywhere. It was as if it vanished, or...
I sprinted toward the door screaming WHAT IF IT'S STILL IN MY INVENTORY?! It was, and reached the door just in time to disappear in a haze of fire and smoke. On the bright side the explosion managed to open the door.
After that wonderful display of Natural Selection in progress I proceeded to the first village of the game, Klamath, in search of a man named Vic. Upon entering said village a hobo tried to shake me down for some money and called me a filthy Tribal when I refused to pay. While dicking around near the edge of the village immediately after the local idiot (Not me, another idiot) asked me to help defend some cattle from "Scary Bug-Men" (Mutated scorpions) so I agreed and stabbed some with my shitty spear. My reward was a grand sum of fuck-all as the Village Idiot stood next to the cattle without giving me a tangible reward, remaining there after I left to do only God knows what to those poor cows in the privacy of the night.
All things considered I'm doing a pretty shitty job of saving my home town right about now.

I stared playing F2 some time ago, but gave up on it quickly. I can't remember what, but something really bugged me in the game. Not the graphics for sure, since I used to play lot of games like this one, but something was wrong.
