Another aspect I liked about Kylo Ren, is the temptation aspect. I have never seen it done quite like that, even in KOTOR, they never dealt with the idea of the lightside tempting the Sith. But they did just that, and I find that fascinating, great job J.J. Oh, and Ren is everything Anakin should have been in the prequels. I thought he was fine in Ep. III, but yeah he could've done better in Ep. II. |

Funny how a lot of The Force Awakens was basically a remake of A New Hope. I'm not even a big Star Wars guy and I caught onto that. Thought it was great nonetheless.
I wish I could have experienced the mystery behind the mask with Kylo Ren. Unfortunately from watching Girls all those years I'm very familiar with Adam Driver's look and acting style. Every bit of him was pretty much what I expected. No surprises. He didn't wow me, I didn't think he was bad. Just run of the mill. He's sort of a villain in training almost.

Finally decided to watch the movie. Didn't think it would be good, but it was great. I'm a bit disappointed with Kylo Ren though. He almost got fucked by Finn, who was a regular stormtrooper and never had a lightsaber in his hand before. I Hope this weak Vader wannabe dies really, really slow. |

The movie was great, but Rey annoyed the shit out of me.
You expect me to believe that she can expertly pilot the Millennium Falcon and give pointers to Han Solo who had owned it for decades? Furthermore, she killed stormtroopers with perfect accuracy without getting shot, controls a stormtroopers mind to get her to safety (without being detected), and overpowers Kylo Ren with a weapon that she has never used her entire life.
If they're setting up Rey vs. Kylo Ren to be the main rivalry in the trilogy, then it's not going to work. There's absolutely no tension considering Rey was already miles better than Ren. Probably the only plot point to show in future movies to show some exposition to Rey's character would be Rey going to the dark side before coming back.

Fun little fact; Episode VII was originally going to be called "Shadow of the Empire" instead of "The Force Awakens", which is kind of interesting since there was a Star Wars EU book and N64 game of the same name.
