The damage is already done, though.
Now future fights between Ren and Rey will have absolutely no tension because Rey already proved she's better than him. They could have easily ended the fight with the earthquake before Rey pulled the final blows on him.

I still think that Kylo Ren's fantastically written and that blast should've killed him. The fact that he stands up and continues to fight and even manages to nearly kill Finn is just insane. If he wouldn't have been wounded, Finn and Rey would've been torn to pieces. Also, he isn't even a Sith yet. He knows how to use a force, but his training is nowhere near completion.

Great news everyone! The Force Awkens has officially beaten Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time with currently over $5 billion! That's 2.2 times more than Avatar made! For reference, here's Star Wars compared to the other top 9 highest grossing films:
1. Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens: over $5 billion 2. Avatar: $2.7 billion 3. Titanic: $2.1 billion 4. Jurassic World: $1.6 billion 5. The Avengers: $1.5 billion 6. Furious 7: $1.49 billion 7. Avengers Age of Ultron: $1.4 billion 8. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: $1.3 billion 9. Frozen: $1.2 billion 10. Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon: $1.1 billion
