I hate Ren too, but I also think he's fucking great, if that makes any sense. I really hope he dies in the slowest most painful way possible though. Honestly I'm not impressed with Ren. Sure, he kills Han Solo, but that was just out of nowhere and nobody (As in, the characters) saw it coming. And when he went up against Finn, Finn wasn't even a Jedi and still managed to hold his own for a bit. In his only real fight that's more or less on even terms, against Rey, he gets his ass handed to him within minutes. As soon as she tapped into the Force he was essentially curbstomped, and she would have killed him had he not gotten lucky with the planet blowing up.
As it is, he's better than the prequel villains but still doesn't hold a candle to Vader and the Emperor. I like him because he acts all badass and you think that he is at the start, but it turns out he's just some guy who wants to be something he's not, he's almost like a spoiled kid. I've heard people complaining about how he didn't look like much without his mask, but I thought that added to it, with his mask on he looks and sounds intimidating as all hell but without he's just a regular dude. I also think his design is badass but that's beside the point.

Interesting.

Interesting. More or less, it's pretty damn interesting to have a main villain who's like that, though I get the feeling he'll become properly badass in the next movie, which I'm fine with, he needs to put up some kind of a fight against Luke.

Interesting. This comment made me realize that Ren's basically like the Star Wars version of Joffrey. He acts all badass and so, but he's a total bitch and gets his ass handed to him by people who've had absolutely no Jedi training at all.

While Ren is trying to be as evil as he can possibly be, kicking puppies and whatnot, the guy he's trying to emulate actually turned back to the Light just before he died and saved the Galaxy.
Ren is a failure at literally everything. I get that that's interesting to some, and I do admit that it's an intriguing way to go for a villain, but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm really not feeling threatened by him at all after Rey kicked his ass so hard. It would take one hell of a change for him to become an actual threat before the end of VIII in my eyes.

He's not even a Sith, and he clearly lacks the skill to be one getting his ass handed to him like he did. EDIT:I don't know where that extra quote box came from, nor how to get rid of it :/

Let's also not forget he was badly wounded during that fight, and he wasn't even fully trained. For the record, I fucking loved how he acted in that fight. He kept hitting his side like an animal, it felt really psychotic and I loved it.

He kept hitting his side like an animal, it felt really psychotic and I loved it. To me it felt more like he was trying to seem tough, but it just fell flat to me. Trying to make himself seem stronger than he really was. And wounded or no, he's had vastly more training than Rey, even if said training isn't complete. He learned from both Luke and Snoke and he's been using the Force for years. I mean, he's even able to freeze blaster bolts in mid air. To get his ass so firmly kicked by someone who has been using the Force for a grand total of two hours at most is just really pathetic on his part.

Another aspect I liked about Kylo Ren, is the temptation aspect. I have never seen it done quite like that, even in KOTOR, they never dealt with the idea of the lightside tempting the Sith. But they did just that, and I find that fascinating, great job J.J. Oh, and Ren is everything Anakin should have been in the prequels.
