So yeah, in this thread, we will talk about Nick and Sarah's fates.
To me, their deaths in episode 4 was a joke...a complete joke.
Nick-he becomes an interesting character in episode 2 and he becomes determinant like if you tell Walter that Nick is a good guy or just like everyone else. And after episode 2, he barely gets any screentime in episode 3 which disappointed some people and thought that since that Nick might meet his end in episode 4, he would have a great death so then many people will be proud about Nick's role as a determinant. And what happens in episode 4? We see Nick getting shot by one of Carver's men and we see him as a fucking walker and we have to fucking kill him off!...What the fuck, Telltale? You din't pull this shit on Carley, Doug and Ben when they were determinants so why did you decided to do this to Nick? Why the fuck did you even make him a determinant character if you kill him off and not even show us his death! Alvin's end was very awesome if we save him so why couldn't Nick get a sweet epic death like him?
Sarah-As I said many times, Sarah was my favorite character in this whole season, even in episode 1 I liked her. She really reminded me of how Clem was in season 1, innocent and all and I thought that now that Carlos is dead, Clem can take care of Sarah the same way Lee took care of her when she was eight and teach her how to survive. Of course, we can save her or leave her and I thought that Sarah will get lots of character development if we save her and she might have her grand death in episode 5 or possibly survive in episode 5 with Clem. And what happens next? We have to save either Jane or Sarah at the end of the episode and even if you try to save Sarah, she still dies, just like that...Seriously? SERIOUSLY? What was the point of becoming friends with Sarah in episode 1? What was the point of teaching her how to use a gun in episode 2? Telltale handled the deaths of the characters from season 1 much better than the deaths of the characters from this season! Seriously, they spend this entire episode focusing on that stupid Molly clone known as Jane and decided to get rid of the two characters who deserve much better development than her.
Nick and Sarah deserved much better than what they got. I feel like Telltale wasted so many potential with some characters like Omid, Carver, Nick and Sarah. I could write a fucking fan fic about Nick and Sarah surviving episode 4 and also surviving the events of episode 5 which I bet it would be much better for them than what they got in this episode and it would be canon in my mind.
Well, this was my rant about Nick and Sarah's fates. Post your own thoughts about their fates.

I agree completely. What happened to those two reallypissed me off.
What the fuck was a point of making Nick determinant? He didn'tdo shit since the moment walter saved his life. Seriously, he did COMPLETELY NOTHING aside from havong a totally pointless death. Just compare that to what Ben did as determinant. He could go with lee to look for clem, depending on your choices. If he went with you, he got a lot of lines, especially if everyone else stayed with the boat. He could pull lee up, if he failed to jump to hospital's rooftop. He had an argument with kenny and yelled at him how he felt. He picked lee,s gun up in the attic. And most importantly, he got an epic death scene. And other characters were talking about him, because he still existed. In season 2, nobody cares about Nick. What about a promiae to uncle pete? I said I will look out for Nick, but I couldn'tdo anythong to save him.
And sarah, another well developed character wasted. What the fuck was a point of teaching her how to use a gun? It doesn't matter, just like everyrhing else in season two. And saving her just so she can die in the same episode is just so fucking pointless. And people forget about her death right after. Who gives a shit that a 15 year old girl died? A baby was born, let's just celebrate! Bullshit.
Poor Carlos and Pete.

I understand the frustration with Nick because yes, he was essentially completely ignored after his death. I never really liked him all that much, so I didn't mind that much that he was sidelined, but I can understand why people who did like him were disappointed.
However, I actually really liked the way Sarah was handled. Her character exemplified what Jane said. There are some people you just can't save. I tried to do everything I could for Sarah. But she just wouldn't respond. She wasn't showing any signs of progress. And that's great. Because there are people like that. People you feel bad for and try everything to help but just can't.
What makes her character arc poignant and so incredibly tragic is that you want her to get stronger. You want her to push past her weakness and become like Clem. If Clem can get past losing Lee, surely Sarah can get past losing Carlos, right? No. She's not Clem. She's not built like Clem. She can't do it. And no matter how hard you push her, no matter how much you try to comfort her and teach her to be stronger, she just...dies. Alone and terrified.

Still, they could of saved her death for episode 5 instead of killing her off in the same goddamn episode just to troll us to death and I wanted Sarah learning how to shoot in episode 2 to actually have affect, not to be completely ignored just like everything else in this season.

Yeah, I saw this thread coming fast, you haven't the faintest clue how pissed I was with Nick, I was unhappy with Sarita because it happened seconds after the choice, but I was furious at the Nick part, good god, I can't even figure out what killed him, I just can't, why is it out of all the determined characters in season 2, why is it Alvin was the only one who got a emotional death?

In this case, as in the case with Carley and Doug, I think the helplessness and futility of not having your choice matter actually added to the experience. No matter what you said to Lilly, she was shooting Carley or Doug. No matter what you did or didn't do for Sarah, she was going to die. In both instances, you were watching someone you're trying desperately to help just crumble and fall before your eyes. Sarah was just a much more prolonged version of that.

Also as I feared, they killed Carver WAY to early, everything would have been more tense if Carver still out there, and you got to worry about walkers and Carver, but no they killed him for no reason, and perhaps the end could have been Carver instead? I don't know, maybe put him in episode 5? I don't know, it just feels like the wrong call there also.

I have to admit, I kind of liked how Sarah went out if you get her out of that trailer. It shows that no matter what you do, you can't save her. She wasn't saveable. Mentally as well. She still thought her father was alive even after he died right in front of her. She was just too far gone. Clementine could've done all she could to help her, she could have dragged her across three states just like Jane did with her sister Jamie but in the end, if Sarah didn't want to go on then Clementine can't make her.
And that is why I liked how Sarah's death was handled. Both on the deck and in the trailer.

I agree with what you are saying about her death, but I would have at least prolonged it to episode 5. Have her get shot by the Russians and give her a bit more emotional of a death scene.

I thought the death scene was fine. What was lacking was the aftermath. The fact that Jane seemed like the only one who gave a shit that Sarah died was baffling. Rebecca has her baby to worry about so I kinda get that but Luke was more upset about his newly found squeeze leaving than over the young girl he'd been living with for the past year or so being eaten alive. Like really dude? That's what makes you rage out?

Agreed, the later death was handled very well, I liked how Jane does try at least, fails, but try's anyway, and good god, I can't remember a death scream being that bad since a few of the season 1 non canon Clem deaths, just, god...
