Well, if TT is to make one of the past characters as PC, then we have:
- Lily - easy to pick up, but HATE - Molly - we know her backstory and with her skills and abilities she could work as a PC - Mike - since TT changed his status from determinant to alive, it might mean they have some plans for him - Christa - we can be shown her misadventures, with the story running parallel to S2 events
Wishful thinking - Glenn - but, unfortunately, it's impossible because of constrains of the canon.

You're forgetting: - Arvo: Gives an interesting spin on combat, and simple tasks, but lots of hate - Eddie: Loved by many, but played a minor role in his appearance And now, for comic possibilities, seeing as this is in the same world as the comics: - Almost anyone from Carver's camp: This could be similar to the novelization of Lilly Caul in the comics. Someone figuring out how fucked the management is, and taking it over themselves, making it better. - Ezekiel or Michonne: They're both currently unknown, and haven't been mentioned since the beginning of the new protagonist in the comic. - Dwight: Currently unknown, both with what he did with the saviors, and his current status. Could easily give him some backstory.

Eddie could be a great protagonist, if handled right. I don't want to have protagonist from the comic, but I have to say, the idea of playing as Dwight is interesting.

They could have it so Arvo slowly gets better at English as the game goes on.

Nate would be a good protagonist.
Look at Vismabros' story for example.

I remember that story. That was a great story. I remember reading it before the forum change. Although I never did read Chapter 5. Because of the forum change!

So.. Considering the question is "How SHOULD Telltale continue Season 3?", I'm gonna pick the "Make 3-5 separate storylines that do no not converge" option.
What they'll probably do is start it over with a new cast. See, if the question was "what they will do to continue" then it'd be the second thing I said. But since it isn't, I'd rather have my quality choices that actually matter. I can wait.
