Well I should have made this thread sooner, I finally bought the game, and finished it, and I have to say, where did they go wrong? Thief the Dark Project is one of the greatest stealth games out there, and this game does not feel like Thief, it says its Thief, it looks like it, but it sure as hell does not feel like it, they really simplified the game, I guess that's a all to common thing now a days, but its still depressing to see it happen, and the fact they added Call of Duty action sequences, which show up far to often is just yet another major problem with this generation of gaming, its not all bad, mechanically it's not bad, the voice acting is good, I mean I still think Stephen Russel did a better job, but the guy they got for Garrett was good, and the atmosphere was great in a few parts, mostly in the asylum, but the immersion is broken by way to many loading screens, and they are EVERYWHERE! Also the story, is not as good as it could have been, it was serviceable but it good has been far, far better. The AI is puzzling, at times it works perfectly and it feels like Thief, other times it walks into walls like morons, once a guard found me but would not attack, and I clubbed him without harm, it's mixed lets just say, so overall I could go on for hours, but let me just sum it up, Ken Levine, the man who CREATED Garrett and whose first game was Thief, said it was a disappointment, need I say more? It's really a 5 out of 10, its okay, and people that don't know Thief might find it good, but to a hardcore fan like me, it burns so badly.

Dammit, I had high expectations for this game. Real shame it turned out like this. I think I'll just replay deadly shadows for now, I'll buy the game when it games much cheaper.

Yeah its a mixed bag, at times it feels spot on, and other times less so, I forgot there were much less options, in Thief 1 there were many options, this, more like 1 maybe 2 if your lucky, seriously what went wrong? Dexus Human Revolution was great and felt like it was true to the original, this was not true to the original, it felt more like a bit Dishonored, mixed with Assassins Creed at times, with way to many inspirations from modern military shooters. I say price drops go for it, but I mean it when I say price drops.

I guess they wanted to make the game look appealing to younger games and fans of dishonored. Or just people that didn't know the series before. Man, I'm dissapointed, Deus Ex HRg gave me hope for this game being amazing. Fuck. That. Thief was my favourite stealth game series. At least The stick of turth and A house divided turned out to be great.

I mean I was scared for Stick of Truth, so many delays, but instead it became a Bioshock Infinite, which means it was worth the wait, and episode 2, well you know, I thought reboots were getting better, Deus Ex did well, Tomb Raider did well, but this was not one of them, and seriously, after playing, there reason for not using Stephen Russell is really bad, mocap? Really? Really?
