Well a dubbed episode was deleted on the website I watch FMA on, which sucks, because I really hate Ed's Japanese voice. None of the voices fit as well, actually. Execept Scar.

Episode 30. It's the one where Ed is being talked to about Ishval by Hawkeye.

Well that wasn't the website I was watching it on, and I was too lazy to look it up on a different website.
I dunno. The writing didn't really resonate, and it felt a lot lazier than the earlier episodes. Plus, on top of that, the over the top sort of humor, while still not very funny in English, is even less so with the Japanese voices. Thankfully, there was only really two examples of it in this episode, With Hughes and Ed. Other than that, the writing just seemed awkward. I really am not able to explain much more than that.

Do you mean the actual lines or the sequence of events? Because if it's the actual lines, it might just because you're more used to watching it dubbed.

The sequence of events was alright. Little we didn't figure out earlier, but the lines were pretty bad. Some of them were in the English dub, too, though. I jumped around to my least favorite points in the dubbed link you put up. A lot of the lines were just pretty bad.

My particularly least favorite part was the argument with Kimblee. Kimblee was totally right in that argument, they were soldiers who signed up for war. I mean, some of the war was too much, like shooting kids, but Hawkeye was talking about shooting people, which is kinda the job description for a soldier. Regardless, Kimblee just had to be a psycho. Another pretty bad part was Roy and Hawkeye, when Roy was telling her to shoot him if he ever went astray or whatever he said. That was pretty bad, too.

Well, yeah, that's the thing with Kimblee. The fact that he's a psychopath doesn't make him any less right. In fact, because he's psychopathic mass murderer, his views on things aren't clouded by feelings or morality, allowing him to see things as exactly as they are. And remember, he was talking to pre-jaded Riza. Post-jaded Riza largely agrees with him. The whole conversation about Ishval started with her telling Ed that she was the one who chose her current path of bloodshed, which was essentially his point.
What was your problem the Roy/Riza line?

It still made it feel... I don't know the word. I really can't explain it. I know what it is in my head, but I can't get it in words, you feel me?
That was just sort of cheesy and cliched. At least in my eyes, I could almost say their lines before they did.

And while we're on the subject, it's getting stupid how far they're keeping Winry in the dark. I seriously hope they let her in on it soon. Or maybe Armstrong will.

By the way, how exactly does Envy embody Envy? He just kinda fucks shit up. Sure he can disguise himself, but he doesn't really every want to. He spends most of his time as Envy, not soldier 336, or whatever. If he were really envy, he would spend his time dressing up as his father, or trying to find a way to overrule him.

And I just finished it. I gotta say, it really fluctuated in quality throughout. If one thing was constant, though, it's that the humor was pretty damn bad. Oh well. Still a pretty good show overall.
Hey, Dome, when exactly did the original FMA go off the rails? Like, at what point in the story?
