2 separate places,same universe
(takes place between the 16 months later thing)

it was daytime.me,Jenn,Patricia, and Carter were scavenging around an old,abandoned strip mall.the place seemed empty,but had a can of food here and there,some toys for the kids,and some clothing.the only sounds we heard was the chirping of birds,a few,quieted gunshots from afar,and the occasional moaning of a corpse or 2.i stayed with jenn,knowing she had the gun.everyone else had a spear or something to stab the corpse in it's eye and kill it,or somewhere else on it's head.it was mainly silent,so i spoke.
"hey,"i say quietly to Jenn."i think in the storage room,there might be some food or something."she smiles.
"...it's possible.i guess we could check it out."jenn said.as we approach the door,she tells me to watch for any corpses.she opens the door slowly."seems empty,and i don't here any corpses moaning."she walked in the room."it's clear.let's get some food."she lowered her gun.i walk in,pointing a stick with a knife attached to it with duct tape-i mean spear-into the darkness
