I've been talking to a friend of mine earlier and here's my question. If there ever came a time where Sarah was not with Carlos, and not in a room so that she'd be "shielded" from the walkers, and she would have to kill a walker herself, with no one to do it for her, how would YOU see that happening? Any thoughts? I imagine, like, Clementine is in one side of a gate and Sarah is in the other side, and there is a walker coming after Sarah from the shadows, and Clementine would coach her into protecting herself and how to destroy its brain. And then once she pulls off her first kill, (and maybe even after a little ) they regroup and go off to find their friends. I'm also thinking it would happen in Episode 3.

This would be an interesting scenario. From the episode 2 trailer, it looks like Clem and Sarah will be alone in the cabin for a while (why else would Clem be answering the door and telling the rest of the group someone came looking for Rebecca. Maybe in that time you decide what to do with Sarah, and one of the options can be to reach her how to shot a gun if she didn't already know. Only problem is is that Sarah is apparently awful at keeping secrets, so whatever you do with her will get back to Carlos.

I wouldn't actually see it happening. I get the feeling that if she were ever to be cornered by a walker, she'd just scream, curl into a little ball, and die. Maybe she could take it out if she had a gun, a decent amount of time, and Clementine were there to coach her through it, but based on what we've seen of her and what Carlos said, I think her only real defense from walkers is her room and the people around her.

Yeah. Unless Clem is able to teach her how to survive, this is gonna happen.

She won't likely learn, the odds are not good.

Okay, so we had the option to show Sarah how to defend herself in the cabin. What do you think will happen in the future if we had showed her how to use a gun, or refused to?
I think that it will be like Nick's fate, except that it would be her father's fate. Right now, I'm thinking that maybe in episode 3 or 4 when Carlos is about to be killed by a walker or one of Carver's soldiers, than Sarah would come in with a gun and attempt to save him. If we showed her how to use a weapon, then she would be confident enough to pull the trigger and save her father's life. But if we didn't then she would be nervous and not know what to do next, which would result in Carlos's death.

I personally didn't teach Sarah how to use the gun she found, but I'm kind of bothered that telling Sarah to breathe/squeeze the trigger/aim for the head is considered "teaching Sarah how to defend herself" anyway. She shouldn't think that she knows how to use a gun just from that little exchange. Especially considering that she immediately pointed the gun at us right afterwards. She still has a lot to learn.

Well, for me, Clementine told Sarah what Lee said from inside the train, which was "always aim for the head".

I know teaching her is gonna have a heavy impact later on.

I taught her how to use the gun, she needs to know how to defend herself. If she doesn't, she could die, especially now that she's out of her sheltered little cabin.

I taught her how to do it because why not? I'm guessing there will be a point in time where someone is holding someone else hostage and maybe Sarah will have to shoot. Depending on whether you taught her or not, she'll shoot the hostage or the bad guy. For added drama, that hostage could be Carlos.

I was just like "Fuck it" and taught her how to shoot.

I was just like "Fuck it" and taught her how to shoot. I thought it was for the best, but I was so scared when Carver came in, I thought she was going to try to shoot him, and die because of me, thank god that did not happen.
