"...But this war has been going on for a long while, how can people be able to cooperate together at this point when a lot of guys we've met don't want peace, they only fight for revenge or self-preservation." Mirai said.

"Is that true of all of them?" Rajendra asked. "There are people like you describe, true, but there are more people who want this war to end than you think and more who are willing to work with others to achieve this than may be believed.
Co-operation itself is a form of self preservation as well. Without that, there wouldn't be any of these kingdoms at all"

"...Do you think Deborah also wanted peace through her messed up methods?" Mirai asked.

"I wouldn't know." Rajendra said.
"...To me, it sounded like she kind of just, lost faith in humanity being able to end things. There were those... things she was singing about, too." Isa commented, looking down at her reflection in the cup of tea.
"Mirai, you'll find a lot of people want peace. But there's a right and a wrong way to go about it. There's danger in being too trusting, but if you start believing your opponents are less than human, or even absolutely evil with nothing else to them, that'll make it so much easier for you to commit atrocities against them yourself.
In my opinion, that's what happened with Deborah." Durga said. "With her, with Colorado, with all of them."

"...So, if we can't end the war with the elements, how are we supposed to do this? Do we need to convince the kingdoms that what they are doing is wrong and see things from another perspective one by one?" Mirai asked.

"I don't believe you're getting it. This isn't on you, this is a matter for us to solve, ourselves." Rajendra said, leaning forwards. "I can respect you being allies of ours, and I can respect you two for what you are, but don't think you need to solve all of this on your own."

Mirai glanced down.
"...And when will this matter be solved? When there will only be 3 or 4 kingdoms left after everyone wipes each other out?" Mirai asked.

"Believe me, I don't want that outcome any more than you do." Rajendra said. "I just don't believe any war solved because one person reached ultimate power is going to remain solved for long.
Besides, just because I don't think this should all be put on the two of you, doesn't mean I think you won't be able to help."

Mirai remained silent, thinking about all of this.
"...What do you think?" Mirai asked Isa.

Isa put her finger to her lip, biting at a nail as she thought.
Then she put her hands to the table and spoke. "...Is your technique going to work? You were just betrayed, after all. It only takes one person to ruin everything."
Rajendra nodded. "That's very true, but what kind of person would I be, if my beliefs and motives were twisted just because I was slighted once?
If it only takes one person to ruin everything, that still leaves everyone else allied against that one person. Once they're dealt with, everything can be resolved without everything getting taken up by a maiden."
"So that's your main concern then? You don't trust a single person with all of the worlds power?" Isa asked.
Rajendra nodded. "Ah, you put it far more succinctly than I did. Yes, that is my main complaint with a maiden's method. A single person with all the power of the world could do anything. But if that power is spread out amongst many individuals who all work together, if one goes against that and tries to take all that power for themselves for some horrid agenda or another they'll easily be dealt with.
If one person has all this power, what's to stop them from doing anything they want, without any regard for the powerless?"

"...I guess that makes sense. But, what if the person who uses the powers to end the conflict gives them up in the end and are never used again. Would that be a better solution?" Mirai suggested.

"That would be a solution, but it still depends on several factors." Rajendra said.
"Like... if that person ends the conflict by killing everyone?" Sage asked.
"A perfect example. Even if they give up the powers afterwards, the damage would have already been done. But, I was actually going to say something else: Namely, that it relies on the person going through with it. They could choose at any point in time simply not to do that, who's going to be able to ensure they go through with their promise?" Rajendra asked.

"...I don't know about Mariam and Hannah, but Isa doesn't want this world to become a memory like the ones those god guys made so I don't think after all this time, she would go back on her promise after all the struggles we've been through to get these elements." Mirai said.

"Yeah. I wouldn't do anything like that." Isa said.
"I'm not saying you would. But I just want you to consider these things. Because these are the things that people will be considering about you if you ever get that powerful." Rajendra told them.
Durga looked over at Isa with a curious expression, which Rajendra then looked over at, the king nodded at his wife.

Mirai remained silent for a bit, absorbing everything Rajendra just told him.
Then, a familiar squeaky voice was heard.
"Guess the driver should lay off the strong stuff with the way they parked that carriage." Chuckles chuckled.
Ambrosius walked in with his hands in his pockets, assisted by Chuckles and Joan who were standing alongside him side by side. Chuckles was doing the penguin walk while Joan, who had a few bruises on her face and tears in her uniform, strode over to the table with her arms folded behind her back.
"Sorry for the wait, Rajendra, Durga, took me quite a bit to find you two. Mirai, Isa, minister, I am pleased to meet you. You two have already met Chuckles but the lady next to me who barely survived the battle for Pandora's Box is Joan Harbercorn, commander of my soldiers and second oldest out of the 10 children King Harbercorn has." Ambrosius introduced, gesturing at her.
Joan placed one leg forward and one arm across her chest as she bowed to everyone.
"Salutations." Joan said.
