Heroes VS Villains RP: Season Zero

"Ha.

Anyway, see you later?" Isa guessed, already turning to leave.

Within the Liern Kingdom, in a castle made entirely out of crystal...

Lady Jade sat on a large king-sized bed in the centre of a large and cluttered bedroom. Her hair wasn't braided, falling down her back. Lord Kei was half buried beneath the blankets, half poking out from them and running a large comb through Jade's hair, both were in a state of half-dress. His crown was placed on the nightstand, next to a lamp made of a patchwork of different gemstones and his vest was lying on the bed sheets thrown on top of the bed. A twirling set of wind chimes dangled from the ceiling like stalactites in a cave, filling the room with noise.

Placed on Jade's nightstand was a small statuette of a horse-headed figure with many arms, a collection of seashells and a yellow rose.

The room was filled with jewellery, large statues of cats, rats and soldiers made of jade and large mirrors that covered some of the walls, tables lined with gemstones of many different sizes and makes with brushes and combs thrown across them. Elaborately patterned carpets covered every inch of the floor, where clothes and shoes were discarded. A wheelchair had been placed next to the bed for Kei should he need it, and a chamber pot wasn't too far from that either.

A walkie talkie was lying on the messed up bed, ringing quite loudly. But Jade's gaze remained distant and Kei seemed focused on combing her hair.

"...You can stop now, love. Answer the phone." Jade sighed, pulling the cloth of her gown up to cover herself.

Kei shakily put the comb down, placing it on the bed as he pulled himself towards the walkie talkie. "A-... Are you sure... this was the right thing to do?" He asked.

"Absolutely." Jade answered, staring at her own reflection in the many statues in their room. Her eyes were drawn to a carved imitation of herself, wielding many knives between its fingers like a large cats claws.

Kei picked the walkie-talkie up, his left hand's pointer finger shaking as it hovered over the different buttons. "W-Which o-one... is the...?" He asked.

Jade craned her head around, looking over his shoulder. "Is that one, love. The green-... that one." She pressed the button for him, then moved the walkie-talkie out of his hand, to his ear. "Hello? You're calling us at all the strangest times recently." She said, speaking into the walkie talkie. Kei looked at her oddly for a second before he realized she wasn't talking to him.

"I saw them retreating through my telescope." Rajendra's voice came through. "Is everything alright where you are right now, mister Kraven?"

"...I'm so sorry." King Legume, also spoke up. Saying the bare minimum.

Lord Kei shook slightly, "I-... how awful..." He gasped.

"At least it wasn't a complete loss. Colorado's forces will be crippled without Damballa." Rajendra said. "Of course, that doesn't erase the grief you must be feeling now, mister Kraven. I'm sorry that things had to happen this way."

Jade leaned against Kei's shoulder, wrapping an arm around his side as she rested her chin against his neck, staring at the walkie talkie with a calculated expression.

"Please, even if I hadn't, I could simply create any of the resources you would need at any time. Do not feel afraid to call upon my kingdom's services." Rajendra spoke, very assuredly.

"...Ask him." Jade whispered into Kei's ear.

"I-..." Lord Kei started. "Lazarus, if you don't m-mind... you d-didn't happen to give that maiden any of your elements, did you?"

"I understand that you need to grieve, but this is important. Do you have any idea where they might be heading next?" Rajendra asked, before Jade or Kei could do the same.

"...T-that could be bad." Kei said. "I-I don't want them getting their hands on- on our elements..."

"If you're not feeling safe, I could send some warriors to your kingdom to help fortify it." Rajendra suggested.

"A-actually, I ha..." Kei paused, looking to Jade.

Who nodded back at him, with a smile on her face.

"...I haven't been feeling too s-safe in my own kingdom recently." Lord Kei continued, speaking quieter. "...R-Rajendra, would you mind if me, Jade, and a few of our personal guard s-spend some time in your kingdom instead?"

"Hm, how much time are you thinking?" Rajendra asked. "Your people might be worried if you're gone for too long."

"I-I don't show myself in front of them that often. I-It's fine, I can trust our forces to protect the kingdom without us." Kei said.

"I trust my daughter's been fulfilling her duties in your kingdom effectively?" King Legume asked.

"Oh yes, Clover's the best we've ever had." Jade agreed. "It's simply that... if they were able to get past Rouge, they'll be able to get past us as well."

"We're not like you, Kraven... without the elements, our kingdom wouldn't stand a chance." Kei said. "But... as long as the elements are with me, they're with my kingdom."

"I'm not sure if I can trust them yet, but your words do have a grain of truth to them that I can agree with." Rajendra commented. "But just because they're not destroying kingdoms, that doesn't mean that what they want is what would be the best for us."

"If nothing else, this is a maiden capable of compromise from what I'm understanding." King Legume said.

"...Lazarus, they were with you for the night. Did they try anything underhanded?" Rajendra asked.
