As the group walked through the entrance. There they saw Messorem, floating infront of the blue core f the planet, the area was large, rocky pillairs and flat terrain all around them, the area was so vast that there was a fog in the distance, but it did seem like there were other entrances beyond that fog.
Messorem floated there with his arms crossed as he simply looked at the group.
"Well, here you are." Messorem said

"...We are." Calypso simply stated.
Salazar just stared at Messorem's body with a intent look.
"...So, before we begin this epic battle of proportions, are you gonna reward us with some magical swords or somehow make us powerful to destroy your monster? I still don't see how defeating you will take us one step closer to fighting that Leviathan when it's much more powerful than you are. I don't feel any different than I was when we arrived in this place." Hermes asked.

Sophia said and did nothing.
Samantha grabbed one of her own hands with the other, her shadow continuing to bubble beneath her as she bit her lip. Owen was floating a couple of inches higher than usual and Kita unfolded her arms, already reaching for her sword.
"...I've got a magical sword if you want it." Micah offered, "I've got more swords than I need right now anyway."

"...That was just an example but thanks anyways." Hermes responded to Micah's offer.

"If your expecting the results of these trials to have a immediate and obvious impact, then you are mistaken.
Think of it like a long term investment, in the short term? your the same, nothing has changed, but when the time comes, you will be glad you went through those trials, and that includes this one.
No, i wont be giving you some fancy weaponry, afteral you wont need it.
This final trial, is a simple one, a test of your ability to physically endure.
All you have to do, is destroy the core." Messorem said
"Thats it? it cant be that simple." Kullos said
"Well ofcourse i am going to fight you, and do all i can to stop you.
But in the end the objective truely is that simple." Messorem said

“In the event we manage to destroy that core, how are we gonna escape from this world’s destruction? Will you summon that Nameless Janus Gate to get us to safety?” Kalfu asked.

"I have a pocket dimension we can use for that." Sophia pointed out.

"I have a feeling you wont need either of those things." Messorem said. He was then silent for a moment.
"Did you know that originally, i wanted you to believe that i was evil?" Messorem asked
"What do you mean?" Ori asked
"I wanted you all to hate me, i wanted it to seem to all of you that i was evil, the trials wouldnt have been tests, just me hurting you, giving you every reason i coudl to make you hate my guts, so that when we came face to face in this moment, you would be determined to kill me, to stop me.
So that in that moment you would not hold back, the fire in your hearts with give you ability to bring the fight in ways you may otherwise not be able to.
But.. that all changed, because you all are smart, you pieced together the history of this place, and so that route became pointless, you would have been smart enough to see right though me.
So i changed course, all because of you and the decisions you made, i decided to be upfront, and tell you the story of what happened, and why i need you all here now." Messorem said

"Don't worry, I still hate your guts." Samantha said. "I mean, I don't want to kill you. But I do hate you."
Sophia folded her arms again.
"That's interesting, I guess." Kita said. "So, how are we going to do this?"

“....I still hate you for making me believe that I was the father of two children that I never had. So you got that base covered when it comes to us hating you.” Salazar assured him.

"I think you missed the point of what i was getting at there. Sure you do hate me, but at the very least you know im not cruel or evil, you were warned how dangerous and difficult the trials were going to be from the start.
Regardless none of that matters, what does matter is you completeing your final trial.
Now, in the interest of fairness, it would be unfair if i heard whatever plan your going to come up with, so i will end my own ability to hear you as you decide how you will teckle this situation.
Once this battle starts, i will unend that ability to hear you." Messorem said
And then he flashes for a brief moment, ending his own ability to hear anything the group had to say.

"...He certainly is quite generous. How do we get past him and get to that core?" Calypso asked.
"Well, I was thinking about covering my entire form in light and aim at his eyes so he won't see any of our attacks directed at the core if he is gonna try to protect it." Hermes said.
"I am not certain if any of my attacks will manage to wound him but I could try to redirect any attacks he sends to us right at the core." Kalfu said.
"It depends on how tough that core is supposed to be. I doubt it's gonna be that easy to shatter like it was in that trial that caused that 50 years later future. And he could easily end the light and any attacks redirected back towards him." Salazar said.

"We could make use of my pocket dimension, I can open portals a distance away from myself so if I can open a portal near it that might be useful." Sophia said.
"Might be obvious though. That and given how flexible his 'ending' is he might be able to close your portals" Kita pointed out. "Hey, your shadows eaten people before, right?" She asked, looking to Samantha.
"Uh, yeah." Samantha said, her shadow on the ground gave them all a thumbs up.
"Well, if his entire deal is ending things then... he can't stop nothing, can he?" Micah asked.
Owen raised a brow. "I'm afraid I don't understand what that means."
"It's like, there needs to be something there to end, for him to end it, right? Does it make sense for me to assume that?"
"No, it does." Owen confirmed, "I just don't see how that's particularly useful."

"There's no harm in giving it a try. In any chance he would be able to end the shadow, he would leave Samantha with nothing to defend her from the Leviathan." Calypso guessed.
"...If her shadow eats him, would that shadow turn into a God?" Hermes asked a reasonable question.

"Probably not." Samantha said, looking a little uncomfortable as he elaborated. "Things that go into my shadow seem to just... vanish. I don't actually know what happens to anything in there, but my shadow hasn't ever gained any abilities from doing that."
"...Oh." Sophia blinked, looking genuinely surprised to hear that. Owen gave her a odd look upon noticing her expression.
"If Samantha's shadow eats a god, then would that stop things from ending?" Micah asked. "Wouldn't that be a bit... bad?"
"I doubt that'd happen." Kita said. "Truthfully, I don't know if it's going to be able to consume him. He's probably got fast reflexes."
