This motherfucking game.... Spoilers for the end of Chapter 6. ARTHUR MOTHERFUCKING MORGAN EVERYBODY. He has got to be one of my favorite fictional characters in any video game now. His death was PERFECT. And I knew Micah was a fucking rat all along, but it turns out he was only a rat until after Guarma, they said?
I knew Arthur was going to die, but I didn't expect for him to die at the end of Chapter 6 and for us to play John in the two-part epilogue. It really feels good to play as John again, although I will miss my boah Arthur, what an absolute fucking unit he was. I like how John's skinny as shit and the game says his weight is 'perfect' but skinny Arthur is 10x more bulk than him. Absolute. Unit.
What a fantastic game. 10 out of fucking 10.
Now... on to complete the epilogue. Playing as my boah John Marston.
Also Chapter 6 spoilers. He was only a rat for the Pinkertons after Gurama. Nothing will convince me that he didn't orchestrate Arthur's capture by Colm O'Driscoll during the peace talk between the gangs. Micah was too insistent on going through with the talks (When he's a raving fucking lunatic with a boner for murder) and having Arthur seclude himself up on the ridgeline where the O'Driscolls knew exactly where to find him. It's just too perfect, Arthur getting taken down like that removes Micah's biggest obstacle between himself and Dutch aside from Hosea.
Just because he didn't rat anyone out to the law before Guarma doesn't mean he didn't rat to other outlaws. And he is a rat, that's just a fact.

I miss playing as Arthur Genuinly haven't wanted to play it nearly as much since I started playing as John, and I like John, just not nearly as much as my boah.

I just finished the game. Major major spoilers for the end of the game. WOW the epilogue really really brings the story to a grinding halt, but that's okay. It all paid off in the end. That last mission was fucking epic, did not expect at all to see Dutch there. I'm glad he killed Micah in the end. One question I have tho is... Charles was supposed to watch Sadie, why did Charles let Sadie go up the mountain by herself (it's not like Charles couldn't stop her, he wasn't the one who got stabbed in the stomach.) and why the fuck did Sadie not shoot Micah right away? Oh well. Minor gripes for such a fantastic fuckin' game.
I'm not even fully done. I'm gonna do all the other stranger missions that Arthur left behind. It's gonna be pretty funny when John shows up to go see the Veteran again. I know they'll probably act like John retrieved his horse and went fishing with him instead of creating an alternate scene where John's like, "Oh hey, you remember Arthur from 8 years ago? Well, I was reading his journal and you sounded like a cool dude, so I figured I'd stop by and make sure you're still alive... also wanna go hunting?"
I was a little sad to see that Armadillo was going through a cholera plague, so I wasn't able to find Herbert Moon. My ultimate plan was to kidnap him and take him back to the camp, but by the time you're even able to SEE Armadillo, Arthur's dead and the gang is FUBAR. Seeing Blackwater was cool. Walking through the town as John Marston felt like I was playing the first game remastered, which it kinda is, I suppose.
I was really glad to play as John Marston for a good amount of time, and not just playing as John in a single epilogue mission and then free-roaming post campaign as him, like Jack in RDR1. I was glad and all to play as John, but goddamn I miss Arthur. I'm glad I have a save that still has Arthur in it. I think as John, I'll catch a show and heckle in his honor. RIP my boah. Fuck Micah so muuuch. Glad he's dead. (although he kinda reminded me of Trevor in the last scene)
Can't wait for Undead Nightmare 2 (hopefully... Rockstar don't drop Single Player DLC for Online shite)

Also when you guys reach the credits, I highly recommend sitting through them. There's several scenes that you'll miss if you skip them.

Iβve gotta start getting on with the getting on when it comes to actual story missions. Before I do, Iβm guessing this is just like RDR in which after the game and credits end it still remains playable to do shit that was missed? Obviously donβt need anything spoiled, just a yes or no.

Take your time, I spent so much time dicking around the map while holding off story missions. And to answer your question, yes.

End game spoilers, don't read until you've completed the entire thing. I liked the epilogue a lot. Even Part 1. It comes to a grinding halt in terms of gameplay, but so did the original Red Dead Redemption. After Dutch died John went back to his ranch and did nearly a dozen missions of just just herding cattle and breaking horses. And that was necessary. John's final stand wouldn't have had nearly as much impact if Ross had just followed him to his home directly and commenced the attack. Part 1, the slower and more linear of the two, goes by much faster than a normal chapter and gets the player into the more open and exciting Part 2 as quickly as it reasonably can.
The shootout at the Laramie Ranch in Part 1 is also fucking awesome. After half a dozen missions of John being doubted and mistreated for his lack of knowledge on ranching, everyone shuts up when he grabs his gun and leads the charge on the gang. AND at the end of the gunfight when he shoots that final gang member he's recreating the pose from the original game's cover.
Part 2 is, IMO, on the level of the base game in terms of gameplay. The shootouts are just insane, especially the final one which is a contender for the best firefight in the game thanks to a combination of the location, the enemies, the emotional stakes, and the kickass music that plays. We get to see John building his home, and discover how exactly he arrived at the place he was at during RDR1.
It's not just the conclusion to Arthur's story. It's the beginning of John's. And they didn't take the easy way out by killing off Sadie and Charles. The two of them got to ride off into the sunset, so even if things fall apart for the Marstons the two of them get reasonably happy endings.

Arthur might be my favorite protagonist this year, if you don't like him by the end of the story you're lying.
