Also, OMG. I guess they knew how to enjoy themselves at the studio while developing S1. How did you find that? Where? It's so beautiful.

lol wait IGN gave it 5? Really? Can't help but feel like that opinion is coloured by the state of Telltale.

Also, OMG. I guess they knew how to enjoy themselves at the studio while developing S1. I can't believe Lee Everett unlocked ultra-instinct! Ok onto the episode: Even after all that has happened with Telltale watching this episode actually made me wish I had originally bought the season pass and play the two first episodes first hand. Amazing character interactions, some of the best action in any of Telltale's Game, some rather complex dialogue and character interaction choices and a good balance between narrative driven moments and a few interaction hubs.
One thing that did irk me a little is how easily Clem and AJ were forgiven by most members of the group, it didn't even take much effort to veer Mitch's oppinion on you, I get it, AJ got shot and that changed things, but still that kind of writting reeks of laziness and nests well within one of the "traits" often seen in a Mary Sue/Gary Stu character.
I actually went completelly unspoiled about Miss Saltlickette's reappearance in the season and I was genuinly surprissed with that development, I do agree with what Tom and others had said in that the writting on her character was quite erratic, one momment she is glad to see you, the next momment she is saying that Lee's death was your fault and then she murders a teenager in cold blood. If you want to write a "conflicted" character there's better ways to do it, though I guess that she was probably meant to be the main antagonist so in the end it wouldn't had mattered much.
Well and I guess Clementine is Visexual (sorry, not sorry).

Lilly seemed pretty fine to me. I left her on the side of the road and refused her hand so she really hated me, but she was definitely horrified when she killed Mitch. There was an explosion, someone charged at her screaming, and she reacted. She only stabbed him in the head to put him out of his suffering and make sure he didn't return as a walker. Lilly is clearly damaged and never recovered from losing Larry, like Kenny never really recovered from losing his family either.
She's still an evil bitch in my estimation and I treated her as such, but I really enjoyed her as an antagonist. I think she could have been the best antagonist in the series had we gotten to finish the season. And there was certainly room for her to develop into a less evil character in later episodes since they were building up her conflict every time she was on screen. Kind of like the inverse of Kenny, who reappeared as an ally and (Depending on your point of view and choices) became a villain by the end, Lilly appeared as a villain and (Depending on those same things) may have become an ally eventually.
Too bad we'll never know.

I personally won't cross out the possibility that the reviewers were paid to give Season 3's episodes some average (7 or above) scores. In my estimation, I think ANF got higher scores bc it was short and mostly action. I can see how it could be dumb fun for someone not thinking about it. TFS had longer episodes, lots of slow moments of characters building, and even the action is kinda slow and full of constant tension. Hard to shut your brain off for :P (edit: yeah looking at the review they gave it the same complaint as the first- it's "dull")

They certainly might and I really hope they do, but that chance is still too flimsy for me to count on. Until we get more news supporting it I'd rather write off the season as dead rather than potentially get my hopes up for nothing. Besides, while it's still a bit of a cliffhanger, it's not an entirely awful ending if it does stop here. The kids drive off Lilly and the raiders while Clem gets to canoodle with her partner of choice and hopefully domesticate the feral problem child known as AJ.
I like AJ, he's just kind of scary sometimes.

Kinda wanna talk about Her and how she was done better than Kenny in Season 2. Granted, her first scene felt a bit weird and convenient, but I think her original personality is still intact. She always had a tendency to turn on a dime emotionally and that's still there.
Don't even get me started on how she's clearly putting up a front, though - Abel seems to question her authority a lot, pushing her to be harsher and more vindictive when, if you look at her expression, she kinda doesn't want to be. Her character in Season 4 seems to be based around this Carley quote:
"You think you're some tough bitch, don't you? Like nothing can hurt you. But, you're just a scared little girl." I think that's evident in how she acts. She's putting up a front to maintain her grip on the Delta and win this war they're fighting.
Then there's the whole Mitch thing. Let's be honest - we all know Mitch was gonna die because of the focus he got this episode. Personally I was thinking he'd blow himself up or something, but Lilly's reaction to killing him is interesting. I don't think she did it on purpose..? She did it because she was taken off guard, and her reaction shows that - she looks shocked, curses herself and then prevents him from reanimating. When I first played I didn't put together that she didn't mean to kill him, but thinking about it it's just a really interesting situation and if they do make ep3 and 4 and don't fuck it up I hope that they follow it through.
As a side note I'm glad you have the chance to barely/not recognise her, considering it's been 8 years.
