Wow, when I read the title, I assumed it was a joke. Is Guardians of the Galaxy really big enough to attract a significant number of gamers? Yeah. I don't know, to me it makes a lot more sense than Minecraft. Or even than TFTB did initially. I still don't understand how Minecraft was so successful. It is the only Telltale game I couldn't play through because I got bored.

It is the only Telltale game I couldn't play through because I got bored. I mean, it was meant for kids. I don't know, I managed to enjoy it regardless, and I'm sure kids loved it. I honestly don't get the hate toward it. I mean, yeah, it might be a cash grab, but it's not like it hurt any other series(probably), it seemed decent enough for a series aimed at kids that didn't really have much ambition outside of being a good time, and the profit Telltale amde from it helps them as a studio, and in turn, helps stuff like TWD and GOT or whatever other series' people like. Still, it did seem to come out of left field. But, given just a bit of thought, it makes sense. GOTG makes sense to me immediately. It's an action - sci-fi comedy based on a popular series. Like Jayko pointed out, it's basically a spiritual successor to TFTB, and TFTB was awesome.

I don't hate it, it was a well-produced game, but it just fell flat compared to the other Telltale games in terms of depth imo. Yeah, it is aimed at kids; I'm still surprised the formula worked so well. Didn't expect kids to dig in Telltale's choice-formula. I honestly think that since it's a spiritual successor to TFTB, it's gonna have a hard time winning over hardcore fans, because TFTB was so unique and fantastic in terms of humor. I'm looking forward to it, though I'm still surprised they're making a GOTG game.

And I agree with how you summed that up, actually. It'll be hard to top, or even match TFTB.... cautiously looking forward to it. Also, just curious, have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy?

Yep, and I liked it. It was a pretty good movie. I don't think it's as fantastic as a lot of people think it is - it's style over substance, but that''s done perfectly. I enjoyed it, and I'll probably enjoy the second movie. I don't see how the game is supposed to tie into the world yet.

Like, if it was just a side-story that's entertaining on its own without having to somehow be relevant to the MCU.

I completely agree with you. That'd also give them more creative freedom to explore new characters and stuff like that. Knowing Telltale, it'll probably be just that - their own version of a popular franchise, that's not gonna tie in too heavily with the source material. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Oh shit if it has to tie into the MCU that will be a problem.

Gavin Hammon as Rocket Raccoon. Need that to happen.
Also, are we giving this it's own section?

I hope we get surprised and this drops sooner than we expect. I'd like something to line up with New Frontier, like how TWAU filled the gaps between S2 episodes.

If it's anything to off with Tales and Batman, both were announced at the 2013 and 2015 VGAs respectively, then nothing until E3 that year, then Episode 1 of each was released in the summer/fall period. I feel GOTG will do the same thing.

This was leaked early, and the episodes for this game was said to come out before the next movie releases since the movie follows after the game.
Might change though since voice actors are on strike.

If they'll keep up the Batman pace with Mew Frontier, then the series should be done by the end of March. I don't know when GORG m0vie will be released, but the game qod likely start releasing in April or May.
