Just a while ago, John C. Reilly (The voice of Wreck-it-Ralph), confirmed that he will be returning for a sequel! John Lasseter said in a prior interview that if there was to be a Wreck-it-Ralph 2, he'd want it to be focused on console and online gaming rather than arcade gaming. What games would you want to see in the sequel?

John Lasseter said in a prior interview that if there was to be a Wreck-it-Ralph 2, he'd want it to be focused on console and online gaming rather than arcade gaming. What games would you want to see in the sequel? Firstly, I am quite happy that a sequel is being made. Ever since I saw it, I just thought of all the potential ideas for more movies. The console wars is most certainly the way to go, I mean hell, most arcade games got ported over to home consoles eventually, so it makes sense. Games wise, I don't know, the movie was never about just real games, there was always more to it then that. Just like how Toy Story wasn't just about popular toys. But if I had to pick, I don't know, maybe throw in a Big Daddy or something? At the end of the day, i'm just happy that its coming, because out of all the recent Disney animated films, this probably has the most potential, though you shouldn't read that as Frozen 2 is a bad idea, it has a lot more potential then other fairytale Disney films.

I heared about it a while back, it has been planned since shortly after the release of the first movie... Tough it has not been mentioned afterwards, more and more future Disney projects pop up and the film actually wasn't that profitable compared to other recent Disney films, which makes me a bit worried about wheter it will be actually done or not.
Back then it was mentioned that the plot may include an entry to the modern era of online gaming, which seems to have quite some potential. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Clearly if you do Online Gaming, then mocking the stereotypical COD player is mandatory!

Yeah I can see some potential at making fun of Camping, Griefing, Boosting, QSPing and other lovely FPS tactics.
Some Jingoism between certain games like DOTA and LOL, Call Of Duty and Battlefield, Day Z and Rust, Dark Souls and Elder Scrolls, Wargaming and other F2P militar games, would be pretty nice, if not with the actual games at least with some ficticious counterpartners.

That would be entertaining, they already did some stuff in the first film, hell they already mocked COD, but hey, more stuff can be done. Regardless, I can't wait, it will be good, Disney hasn't done a bad animated movie since... I believe Chicken Little in 2005, everything is going to be great.

I might be alone in saying this, but I legit think the first movie would have been better if Ralph died at the end. Like, think about that.
Imagine what would have happened if that heroic music didn't come on. That actually would've been a ballsy way to end the movie.

Ballsy doesn't always equal better, its just gutsier. It would also serve the themes of the movie in a better way. You are who you are, and no matter what that means, you can still do great things. Instead, it cheapens it with a super cheesy ending. Granted, it's a kid's movie, but so was Iron Giant.

I don't really see it as a kids movie, but that's just me, also Iron Giant sort of did the same thing, he doesn't die, hes fine in the end. That is an aspect of a lot of animated films that you will either like or hate, there is no in between. It's like when somebody dies in a comic book, you know they will be back, but its the way they do it that's unique. Though to be fair, I do always respect any movie that goes the extra mile if it makes sense, Pixar seems to do it when it feels right most of the time.

Not really, isn't he coming together at the end? It has been a really long time since I saw that film (By the way, its coming back to theaters in September, hurah!) but I vaguely remember the giant slowly coming together at the end, which means he is alive and somewhat fine. I probably should watch it again.

To be fair, the Iron Giant nailed the "jk, he's not dead" bit. When they faded into the snowy abyss with the caption: "Langjokull Glacier, Iceland" and you saw all the pieces making their way towards the head's homing device, it's hard not to get chills. I think it works better than ending with the memorial statue and Hogarth saying: "I miss him."
Also, not really on topic, but always necessary:
Still one of the GOAT scenes in animation history.
As for Wreck-It Ralph 2. Might see it, might not. I liked Wreck-It Ralph, but I've liked a lot of movies and had every intention of seeing their sequels and never have.

What a great film, so glad to see it come back to theaters after bombing more then 15 years ago. It started Brad Bird on the path of greatness, and we are forever grateful. Also because of this movie, Vin Diesel got to play Groot, fun fact.
