Right, well if you end up doing that "Survivor Stories" thing, that would be something I'd be interested in reading.
Though, being honest, I'm not sure I quite like the idea of that set-up. I mean... I'm not quite sure how to articulate what i'm thinking. But something that would just jump around and tie up loose ends... it's not the most appealing idea to me, personally.
Though, a story expanding on this ITF Universe would be more than welcome(and if some characters like Hector showed up, I certainly wouldn't complain).
The way I'm imagining it, the Survivor Stories would just be one-shot chapters for certain characters. None of them would be related but there'd probably be potential to carry on certain POVs. Say the "Bennett" one had more places to go, I could write another one-shot called "Bennett II". Unsure whether to attach those to the end of ITF3's Fanfiction page or start a new one if I did go through with it.
I don't know if you read that unfinished Day 100 chapter from Em's dad's POV, but it'd be something like that. They don't have to exclusively tie up loose ends, they can exist for other reasons besides.
Yeah, that's what I figured you meant. Count me against that specific set-up, but not to strongly against it.
Dunno if you guys noticed these subtle hints in Thomas's story:
Following the sounds of struggle as fingers of his free hand twitched without his brain directing them to.
He awoke with a screaming headache. Wincing, Thomas raised a shaking hand and pressed it to his sweaty forehead. Sleeping in a shipping container during the summer was like resting in an oven for twelve hours, but somehow he didn't think that was the cause of the headache.
Pushing himself to his feet he managed to balance – which took him longer than he would have liked – and walked towards the doors of his container and barged them open.
Thomas murmured under his breath, left hand shaking involuntarily as his neck jerked and contorted
"So, where is this place, pal?" he asked, hands twitching.
It felt as if he was walking on two metal poles instead of legs, as if he had bone and nothing else holding him up. There was a distinct numbness, but also a sharp weariness about his limbs. If he allowed it to, it would annoy and unnerve him to no end, so he simply opted to ignore his concerns and carry on walking.
Thomas flexed his fingers, feeling the tendons shift and the nerves twitch all the way up his soon-to-be-bruised shoulder with an uncomfortable tenderness that felt almost... raw, as if he were just a skeleton with tissue paper for skin. Shaking his wrist to loosen up his hand he attempted to leave the sensation behind, but it just wouldn't go.
Probably common knowledge by now, but I was gonna leave Silas's fate up to the readers. There was going to be a [Kill Silas] or [Spare Silas] option that the readers could vote on. I didn't think the result of [Spare Silas] was very good so I axed the decision and made [Kill Silas] canon, but you can read the alternative outcome now:
"What's it gonna be, tough guy? You gonna finish it here and now, or be a big... fuckin'... man and put me in a cage or... some bullshit like that?"
Vince looked at Becca, then down at Silas.
Lifting his bloodied hand, Vince refused the dagger that Becca offered him.
“Ooh,” Silas taunted, “gonna be a big man, huh? Put me in a cage, just like I did to you at Sanctum?”
Taking a few weary steps forwards, Vince reached for the deckchair that sat to Silas's right. Gripping the armrests, he pulled it towards him.
“Dunno if you remember, Vince,” Silas grinned, “but people can escape prisons.”
Snarling, Vince raised the deckchair above his head and brought it down on Silas's head, knocking him unconscious. Though he planned to spare the man, he didn't want him to wake up and get away, so he raised his foot and stamped on one of the man's kneecaps, crippling him, then did the same with the other.
Fun Fact #3
I don't know why but I remember there being an idea for Becca and Annie to have a basketball game with some of the other kids in the mall during UTB. I guess you can see why I didn't go through with it. It was fucking weird. And Becca was always more of a baseball girl anyway.
Fun Fact #4
Almost had a scene where Vince got shanked by Silas in front of everyone, much like a certain character at a certain GOT event.
Fun Fact #5
The bridge was originally gonna collapse on Vince, 'killing' him, but he'd later regain consciousness, much like a certain TTGOT character.
Fun Fact #6
The Kill/Spare Silas choice idea was actually there for a while, but early on it was going to be [Save Vince]/[Save Becca] from Annie's POV.
That's all for now. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.
