So I'm still not spoiled, so could anybody who is spoiled just not respond to this? My guess is that either Luke is the new Emperor, or Han Solo dies. Or both.
I know that Han Solo is a huge part of this movie, just from the trailers, and the spoiler-free review I watched. Old Ben Kenobi was also pretty big in the first episode of the first trilogy. And I know that this movie has been criticized for taking a lot from the formula of the original trilogy. That, and people on the internet really have been liking quoting Han Solo in particular recently. Even here on the forum.
At the same time, though, Luke hasn't been shown in ANY promotional material, to my knowledge. And Mark Hamil has been seen on TV talking with JJ Abrams about the originally darker Star Wars ending, and how he would've liked playing a turned Luke. Not to mention, Yoda legit says that if he leaves Dagobah in episode 5, he'll become "an agent of evil." Like holy shit has Yoda ever been wrong before?
Either way, I really like the look of the two leads in this movie. The black Stormtrooper and the other lady (not googling actor names right now for obvious reasons) both look like really interesting characters.

My friends keep thinking Luke is Kylo Ren Well, we see a robot hand fucking with R2 in the trailer... Granted, a lot of people could have robo hands, but Luke is the only currently living character confirmed to have one. Mark Hamil being Kylo in the same way James Earl Jones was Vader would be cool, but we already know that Mark Hamil isn't physically in the suit. But after Mark Hamil spoke in the fucking trailer, I doubt they'd leave him out of the movie THAT much. |

You see Kylo maskless in the trailer and he's just the actor that plays him. Speaking of Kylo, I really hope they don't Darth Maul him and give him no screen time because he seems like a really badass character.

How on godforsaken Earth do you get spoiled by THE NEWS!?!?! They where reporting on the London premier, and one of the reporters who had seen the movie dropped the most obvious fucking hint as to something that happens, like you would instantly know what she was referring to if you know anything about Star Wars. So unless the news is trolling me, which I highly doubt since this is something I've really been expecting to happen, then I was spoiled in the dumbest way imaginable. Huh, well that is spectacularly stupid. |

And Kylo Ren was awesome, kinda guy you love to hate, in fact all of the new main characters are pretty damn great. The only real thing I properly disliked was the ending, not that what happens is bad but it's just such a shitty way to end.

The only real thing I properly disliked was the ending, not that what happens is bad but it's just such a shitty way to end. I was okay with the ending. It wasn't perfect, there were some conveniences, mostly towards the end, but the original movies did just as much. Yes its similar to the original, no its not copy and paste. Yes I want it to be different from now on, but it perfectly jumpstarts the series. Oh, and I loved Kylo Ren, but all the new characters were great. And for the record, no matter what flaws you find, it will never be within lightyears of Jar Jar or Jake Loyd/Hayden Christanson. |
