Just got Volumes 8 and 9 of Invincible.
I'm also giving a few new series' a try.
Just ordered the first volumes for American Vampire and Revival off of Amazon, and I'm going to order the first Volume of Wytches tomorrow. Along with Volume 10 for Invincible, maybe... or maybe Volume 2 of Outcast, just so I can try and get people I know to read it.

I got Outcast Volume 2 (which I still have to read), and the Transformers All Hail Megatron and Death of Optimus Prime special issues. Just in time to get me all caught up for the Robots in Disguise and More than Meets the Eye sub series.

Just finished reading Revival Volume 1: You're Among Friends.
Basically, for one day, everyone in a small Wisconsin town is revived. After "Revival Day", the town is under quarantine and has the deal with scrutiny from the entire world while also dealing with the 23 or so "revivers". The story focuses mostly on Dana, a cop who is put on the taskforce in charge of dealing with Reviver related crimes, her new partner from the C.D.C, Ibraham, and her sister Em, who is a reviver that was murdered, and doesn't remember her killer.
I liked it, but it's not as good as I had hoped. I might get the second volume at some point, but it's not a priority for me. The art is good, and the characters are interesting, but I think it's aesthetic just kind of struggles, and the story is.... eh. The stuff with the revivers is pretty interesting, but then about halfway through this whole other thing with demons is introduced and it just mesh. I think it should have just focused on the revivers in a more grounded way, as opposed to introducing more supernatural elements, at least, not within the first book. Em's murder is not a big plot point at all, and the story just feels like it's jumping form one thing to the next...
I'll read American Vampire later today or tomorrow and share my thoughts. I'm holding out a little more hope, since one character's story was written by Stephen King, and Scott Synder is pretty well-regarded from what I've heard. I think I may check out Synder's other series, Wytches, before I get the second volume of Revival. Overall... Disappointing, but mostly because I had high expectations, especially after the excellent first chapter.

Just want to point out, I really like the art style of Revival. It's not exactly unique in any way, but it brings across the aesthetic for the most part, aside from, again, the supernatural parts, and the characters are really well-designed.

Read American Vampire. It was really good. I can't do a whole thing on it like I did with Revival, but to elaborate on how much I liked it, I immediately went out to buy Volume 2 today. Unfortunately, my local comic store doesn't have it, and won't for another 2 weeks. I did, however, pick up another Scott Synder book; Wytches. This one was just as good if not better and Scott Synder is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. I'm going to try and find his short story collection that Stephen King mentions in the foreword to American Vampire as being the reason he was already a fan of Synder's before working with him; Voodoo Hearts.

I also got Revival Volume 2 because I was there, so it has one more shot to win me over, and I really hope it does...

Ugh..... I really can't wait for The Card Store(my local comic shop) to restock so I can get more Wytches and American Vampire. Scott Synder is fucking awesome.

Ugh this sucks. My comic shop ran out of the newest two tissues of the Transformers Robots in Disguise Tie In comic, and Smokescreen's supposed to be in one of them! Gonna be at least a week.

Sounds like neither of us are having much luck when it comes to comics. I've still got to wait about a week until I can get more American Vampire books(and Wytches, but I think there's only one more Wytches book, and around 7 American Vampires).

I'm curious as to how many people still buy physical comics, generally I exclusively buy physical copies just because I prefer them (though they are way more fucking expensive and take up quite a bit of space) but people seem to be buying digitally more and more these days.

The only digital comics I get are those that are like either convention exclusive or Free Comic Book Day ones that I miss. Otherwise I always by physical ones. I think Stan Lee put it best. "Comics are like boobs; they're great to look at online, but I'd rather hold them in my hands".

Yeah, I only buy physical copies of comics. Thankfully, the comic store I buy them from actually has a 25% discount on all collections, so they end up being cheaper than if I were to buy them digitally.

Lucky, the only comic store near me shut down, so I have to buy em all from Amazon, which can be pricey as hell.
