So, this here is a thread for you to post about games that are bad, or unpopular, but you like them anyway for some reason. Your "Guilty Pleasure" Games.
I can think of two right off the bat. I love DOOM 3. Most people I know hate it with a passion, and I can understand why. It was a huge departure from the original Doom games, to the point where it was practically a different IP in terms of gameplay and story. The story itself is flat and cliche to all Hell (pun intended), there's absolutely no depth to the main villain or any of the side characters, and in comparison to the games that came before it, it's slow as shit (Which isn't really a problem for me). That said, I find the atmosphere of the game to be fantastic, and it really feels like you're in a base on Mars. They hit the sci-fi tones right on the head, and despite the story being predictable at pretty much every turn, I enjoyed exploring the backstory of the game through the audio logs and e-mails you can find laying around the base, because most of it is entirely optional. I just love sci-fi, I guess.
The second game? Shellshock 2: Blood Trails. It has one of the absolute worst premises ever, which is dropping a horde of zombies into the middle of the Vietnam War and trying to pass it off as some kind of spooky horror game with awful voice acting, stiff gameplay, and zero effort on the story. It even has the audacity to quote Apocalypse Now on the store page. But for some reason I don't really hate it. I've always had a deep interest in the Vietnam War, and of course, zombies, so this mashup... I guess I enjoy it just because of how awful it is. It makes no sense for a game like this to exist, but it does, and I don't hate it. Not one of the worst games ever, but it's certainly a contender. And I don't care.

I enjoyed watching playthroughs of both Beyond: Two Souls and Fahrenheit. But, that doesn't really count as playing them Aside from that, I liked Bioshock 2 more than Bioshock Infinite or the original. And, I guess liking Assassin's Creed: Unity is still seen as "wrong"? I'm really not sure if any of those count.

IMPOSSIBLE game to beat without looking up the walkthrough. Fun though. Only got an Okay on IGN. Dunno what made it inferior to Chamber of Secrets, which got good reviews. Regardless, one of my favorite games of all-time.

Guilty pleasures everybody's a few! Guilty pleasures! Yeah, had to say that, well, I did honestly enjoy Darkest of Days, it's not a particular good game, but you get to use an M16 at the battle of Antietam! That is so cool! An assault rifle being used in a Civil War battlefield? How is that not fun?

If you've never fantasized about going crazy all over the Confederate Army with a machine gun from the year 2100-whatever, then you have no soul.

Pretty much, the rest of the game is not bad, but it's hardly Half Life or Bioshock, it's overall okay, but come on, for a Civil War nerd like me, I had so much fun mowing down an entire rifle column in a second.

Fable II. I fucking adored that game. It was a big power fantasy for me, at a time when I needed it, even if I didn't realize at the time. When I felt helpless to the world around me, a story in which any powerless child could end up becoming the hero of the whole fucking world just sucked me in. And I've always been interested in acquiring scars over long periods of time, as it feels like you're actually doing something dangerous, and going on an adventure. You can look at each individual mark and say things like, "Oh shit. I remember that giant fucking troll thing! That was nuts!" Many people disliked it though.

The Air Conflicts series of games a series of combat aircraft "simulators", they all had very arcadish and very unintuitive flight mechanics , pretty bad graphics and a very bad optimization, DCS is a hundred times more realistic and the old Ace Combats a hundred times more enjoyable and yet I still enjoy the turd.
Tempted to count War Thunder to since while the concept behind it's sound it is unfortunately lead by one of the most incompetent gaming companies in the world, sand has a terrible economic system and balance.
Also when I was younger I used to play the Cabela's series on games, and no, I didn't play the first two which were pretty decent for it's niche genre, but the much worse games that came out latter between 2007-2010.

I think most of the old Playstation games I used to play count. Destruction Derby 2, Donald Duck's Quack Attack, some M&M's game, the Scooby-Doo Cyber Chase game Apart from that, I guess I like Shadow the Hedgehog(what can I say, the whole thing with the alternate paths is cool and I don't think the game is as bad as people say) And it seems to be pretty unpopular to like TWDG S2 here( ) so I guess that counts

Fable II wasn't bad.. the Endgame was just a bit of a dissapointment.. Now.. Fable III removed scars and dynamic player looks and you're ugly and you look like shit and the story is shit and the whole thing is a piece of shit.
Dude, I loved the dynamic player model in Fable II. In both my good and evil playthoughs, I started with pretty much the same character, designed after myself. In my good playthrough, I ended with my bald head, and a few scars. I didn't die much, because I trained my dog so heavily. I ended with the neutral ending. Then, in my evil playthrough, I started as the same man, but ended as a fat, STD infested woman with three children and all the money in the world.

And also seeing how I really liked season 2, well, I guess that counts for me as well.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil 6 and the X Men Origins:Wolverine game never understood the hate RE:ORC got, but I haven't played it in ages so maybe I missed something. I also really like a lot of the games on here like Shadow The Hedgehog and Bioshock 2.
They're only the ones that come to mind at the minute, there's loads more.
