After seeing that it was the 15th anniversary of The Iron Giant, I decided to pop in my old VHS of it and rewatch it. Back when I first saw it in 2003, it was one of my favortie movies ever, which was still pretty good today. Feel free to talk about any memories you had about the movie if you want.

One of the greatest animated movies ever. Hell, one of my favorite movies in general.

It's worth a rewatch. Better than 95% of the animated movies that have been made since then.

Fuck yeah! The main reason I think Vin Diseal went on to play Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, also one of the first Brad Bird films I believe, really fantastic, easily one of the best non Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks films ever made.

And I thought I was the only one who drew that connection! I sweat if Vin Diseal is ever in an animated role, he's the gentle giant character that ends up sacrificing himself at the end of the movie, but then gets revived int the last two minutes.

The facial expressions between The Iron Giant and Groot are really similar too. Makes me wonder if there's any crossover in the design or animation between the two movies.

True, it's just like how Sean Bean has to die in everything, but I am for some reason okay with that.

The 5 year old part of me somewhat wishes that they'd remake this as a live action movie or CGI. Sure it'd never live up to the original, but just get Vin Diesel to play the Giant again and I'd be hooked.

I'd rather see it on Blue Ray, shockingly that has still not happened, it still holds a special place in my heart, I remember when I was a kid how many times I would rewatch it on VHS, I am pretty sure the tape broke.

This scene gets me everytime. Really tempted to "TWD-ify" this and replace Hogarth with Clem and the Giant with Kenny.
