PREVIOUSLY ON TALES FROM THE WELLINGTONLANDS"Wait... who the hell are you anyway?" Kat added after a while.
"Tom Hagen"
After hearing the name, Brotato turned around sharply. "Hagen?"
"You know each other?" asked Walter.
"Oh, we do" said Tom.
"But that's kind of complicated" added Bro.
******
"Who is this?" Admin noticed.
"Allow me to introduce." started Tom. "This is one of my trusted knights. Goes by the name Dark Fox. He was in charge of the continental rite during my absence."
******
"...I got pregnant, Sos. They were born several months after I thought you died."
Thousands of thoughts were rushing through his mind, but only one found it's way to be expressed verbaly. "They?"
"Two. And they were a mixture of you and me."
******
"No!" Rock yelled. "We're not leaving you behind!"
Brotato shook his head. "You already did, back then when we brought Sos back. Now, if you're really my friend, you'll do as I say. Go. I ask you as a friend. GO!"
******
In his mind, the climber saw himself walking down the forest path and noticing a man lying there, in a pool of blood. Several arrows were sticking out of his body. He ran towards him to check whether he was still alive. The man must've been ambushed...
What was it? He didn't know. Maybe he had a dream like this once and now it came back to him?
"Well, I gotta go. Have some things to do. Nonetheless, take care, Mike. Who know who's running up those mountains except for you"
"I will. See you soon, Carlos"
And with that, the climber - Mike - ended the call.
******
Brotato looked around the place, deep in thought. "Listen to me, Shot..." he began. "Me, Tom and Jake were framed... Mike was tortured... now Sos was attacked... and Rock was assaulted. But I thought he was fine last time I saw him?"
HeadShot shook his head. "Because the killer backed down. That's what Rock said."
Suddenly, Brotato clapped. "Of course!" he almost yelled. "It all fits!"
******
But after reading each line, Nick was getting more and more angry. After finishing, he tore the letter into pieces. A dangerous spark appeared in his eyes.
"The Division of Heroes..." he hissed through gritted teeth.
THERE'S A ROOM WHERE THE LIGHT WON'T FIND YOU...Dark Fox was standing by the window, looking at the stars on the night sky. The land was quiet and peaceful, and it felt like a welcome change of pace after everything that happened recently. How did they got here? It's almost like ages have passed since the last time they were home...
But this used to be their home too. That's where they came from after all. Thing was, Fox wasn't sure whether the Order was still a part of this place, because it sure as hell didn't feel like that anymore.
The door to his chamber opened and he quickly spun around, knife in hand. He quickly relaxed upon seeing his guest.
"It's you" he once again turned around to look outside.
"I see you're expecting someone" replied Meg.
Dark Fox shook his head. "Not really. I just..."
Meg sat on one of the chairs, still looking at him. "It's okay, I get it. You're scared."
"I'm not" Fox cut her off sharply. "There's a killer on the loose. I'm just not taking any chances"
A brief moment of silence occured between them. Meg didn't like the fact that Dark Fox wasn't looking at her.
"How bad is it?" she said, not having any idea what to say. Fox seemed strange.
"The slash was shallow, nothing serious" he whispered, touching his chest slightly. "I'm not really bothered by it."
Before Meg had a chance to reply, he continued. "But it made me realize something. I was watching the guys... but there was a moment when I went to the table to get a drink. The killer must've gotten inside the chamber..." Fox paused for a second. "And if he wanted to finish Sos or Zyphon off, he would've done that and I wouldn't notice until it'd be too late. Then he'd deal with me. But... he attacked me first, ignored them." Fox grabbed the stone windowsill. "That was his mistake, since attacking me caused Zyphon to come back to his senses."
Meg listened to him carefully. "I don't know where this is going."
Dark Fox was looked at the torches by the castle gates, with fire illuminating stone walls.
"Whoever the killer is, it's likely he lost his interest in Sos... or Zyph, I don't know. Or maybe he just wanted to take me out first. In the forest, the beast turned to me after I showed up. Then I was assualted in the castle." Fox's grip on the knife tightened a little. "And this, by extension, means that..."
He didn't finish.
"This means what?" asked Meg, not really sure where this was going.
Dark Fox exhaled deeply. "...Nothing. It's nothing."
Meg rolled her eyes. "That's it? If you started saying something, then finish it. Don't cut it o--"
"I think you should leave" Fox interrupted her once again, except this time Meg couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Excuse me?" she asked, incredulous.
"I think" repeated Dark Fox. "That you should leave."
"Oh please" she replied, annoyed. "Don't go all 'lone hero' on me now."
Upon hearing that, Fox turned around to finally face her. "This is serious" he raised his voice.
But she ignored that. Meg stood up and walked forward, pointing her finger at him.
"You think that asking me to leave will do the trick?" she asked, her voice cutting the air between them. "I see what you're doing. You think that, being the target, the only way to save others is to push them away"
Fox didn't say anything to that, he just looked at her, quiet.
"Well, news flash, asshole" Meg hissed. "We're in this together. And I'm sure as hell I'm not giving up on anyone, especially you"
When she finished, Dark Fox wasn't sure how to reply to that. He wanted to... tell her that he's grateful for that? Yet he didn't know what to say, and they stood there, not really uttering a word to each other. And then, just then, Dark Fox felt the urge to do something else...
"Fox?!"
...when the moment was ruined after the door opened and HeadShot quickly made his way inside.
"Oh, Meg, you're here too? Well, that's good for me" he said and closed the door.
Both Meg and Dark Fox turned to face him. "I don't remember you saying something about visitng me during late night hours" Fox pointed out.
"It's kinda urgent, I couldn't tell you anything after we all left the meeting" replied HeadShot in haste.
He scractched his chin, as if he was wondering what to say next. "Oh well, I guess I'll just spit it out"
"Be our guest" replied Meg, raising her eyebrows. "And better do it fast, 'cause you're starting to act a little too suspicious."
HeadShot sighed. "Alright. We need to leave. Now"
Meg chuckled slightly. "What's with all the leaving today?"
HeadShot eyed her. "What?"
"Don't mind it" Fox shrugged. "But seriously, what do you mean?"
"It means that we need to leve this place. It's not safe here anymore"
"It never was" Fox pointed out. "And I don't think people will be keen on doing that"
HeadShot grinned. "Everyone knows about this. You don't really think I wouldn't warn others?"
Meg was surprised about this. "Everyone?"
HeadShot shook his head slightly. "Sans the new guys" he replied.
Dark Fox and Meg exchanged concerned looks. "Why, what's wrong with them?"
HeadShot turned a lot more serious. "Because, from whatever information I have, one of them's the killer. And I even might have an idea who it is"
"Then why aren't we trying to take the guy down?" Meg asked.
HeadShot looked around the room, as if someone was lurking in the shadows, listening to their every word. "Because we can't be sure about that. All we have is a theory. Besides, the guy transformed Mike into some spidey shit. We have to go, think things over and come back with a plan. Right now we're nothing but sitting ducks"
The stars dissappeared behind the thick clouds that covered the sky. Far away, a lightning struck the land.
"Are you with me or not?" HeadShot asked, impatient.
Sharing one last look, both Dark Fox and Meg nodded their heads.
"Let's go" was all that Fox said before they left the room.
******
The entire Order was walking down the corridor in a haste - Sos was carried by ILC.
"So where exactly are we going?" asked Tormunds.
"House Wellington. You know, the place where we were teleported several days ago?" replied Rock. "It used to be an enormous castle."
"Cool!" Tormunds was excited.
"Yeah, that's great" Crackman leaned out of the corner to look whether it's clear to go. He motioned with his hand for everyone to follow him. "But right now we have to focus on getting out of here unnoticed"
"How exactly did you come up with all this? Supposed killer, escape plan and shit?" inquired Dfh.
"And did you set TKA free?" Admin asked further. "Because his cell was empty last time I checked."
HeadShot sighed. "Alright, I'll tell you, but you must promise me that you won't try to kill me. You just have to trust me on that one"
Carlos rolled his eyes. "Starting with something like this is the easiest way to get you killed, you know?" he chuckled. "But don't worry. We're dying like flies as it is, we can't afford to kill each other."
...HOLDING HANDS WHILE THE WALLS COME TUMBLING DOWN...HeadShot nodded. "Okay... I'm in touch with Brotato. He's the one that keeps me up to date with everything that's going on."
Zyphon immediately stopped walking. "What did you say?!"
Everyone went quiet.
Well, shit, thought HeadShot.
"Yeah, it's him. He's been asking around--"
"Do you have any idea what you're doing?" Zyphon asked sharply. "Was it his plan to bring us to Wellington?"
"Yeah, we need to--"
But Zyphon grabbed him by the shirt. "Didn't you think that we might be all walking into a trap?!"
HeadShot shook his hands off of him. "He's not the killer, for fuck's sake! And he was trying to find the killer on his own, he discovered some pattern and predicted some of the murders!"
Bio stared at him as if HeadShot was an idiot. "You imbecile! If he's the killer, he would predict ANY death!"
"Fuck that!" Zyphon almost yelled. "What's with all the 'finding the killer'?" Zyphon eyed HeadShot.
HeadShot went too far to back out now, so it was better to tell the truth anyway. "He did that using Tormunds's photos I gave him"
Almost everyone gasped.
"You stole the photos?" Zyphon hissed through gritted teeth. "You aided the murderer, you shit!"
He didn't expect what happened next. The onlhy thing he barely registered was a sharp pain and the view of the stone floor getting closer to his face.
Everyone looked at the scene while Zyphon slowly stood up after HeadShot hit him in the face.
"After your failed attempt at gutting him, Brotato came to me!" yelled HeadShot. "He swore he's innocent and it was all a big misunderstanding. He explained himself - he knocked the cup out of Tom's hand because of some silly promise Tom made after Sos's wedding!"
Zyphon touched his cheek, slowly rising.
"And you!" HeadShot shoved him away. "You know Brotato way longer than me, yet I'm the one who trusts him. Fuck you and your suspicions!"
HeadShot turned to everyone else. "When he says he didn't do it, I believe him. I fucking believe that none of us would be capable of killing our friends. Is it so fucking hard to see?"
Everyone was silent, even Zyphon.
"And I don't care what you all think, I want all of us to survive. That's why I'm trying to get us out of this shit!"
Guys were all ashamed after hearing that. He had a point - they knew each other for god knows how long and they turned hostile against themselves in the matter of days. Last time that happened, it didn't end well.
All the screaming and yelling attracted attention, though.
"What's going on here?"
Everyone turned around to see Sonic walking towards them.
"What's with the gathering, is something happening?"
Nobody answered him. Instead, everyone turned to look at HeadShot. After all, he said that one of the three new guys was the killer, but didn't reveal which one of them.
"Guys...?" asked Sonic again, unsure.
HeadShot thought about his options, but empathy triumphed against reason.
"We're going away. All of us" he said. "I'm almost sure who the killer is and we have to leave. You can come with us. No questions asked."
Sonic was surely taken aback by that. Everyone saw that he had trouble processing all this over. Moments later, he made up his mind.
"I'm in"
Harp nodded. "Good. Let's go, okay?"
The group slowly made their way to the main courtyard.
"So, since it's Brotato who's snooping around..." started Admin. "Do you have any idea where Tom and Jake are?"
HeadShot shrugged. "The first time Brotato met with me in secret, he mentioned something that he parted ways with them in some run-down town. They stole a ship and went off to travel to the continental rite. Nothing else from that moment forward."
Harp seemed worried. "Well, now that we know that continental rite was destroyed... who knows where they are."
The mood turned a lot more grim.
"And it was Brotato who set TKA free" added HeadShot. "He didn't want him to be killed, even though he's not the next target"
"And who is?" asked Crackman.
"Dark Fox. After him, Tom or Brotato are going down" replied HeadShot. Upon saying that, Fox felt a lot more distraught.
Walking outside, they saw that it was already raining, with thunders cutting the night sky.
"But I've got to know one thing" Sonic said. "Who is it?"
"I think we all want to know that" added Dfh.
"Well, Brotato said that it'll be the first person who proposes to go after him and Tom." revealed HeadShot.
"Wait a second!" Carlos interrupted. "It was--!"
"HEY!" the yell from one of the balconies above stopped their discussion.
Looking above, the group noticed both MP and Aldimon standing there.
"Where the hell are you going?" shouted Aldimon.
When there was no response, Aldimon and MP exchanged looks. Just then, MP raised his arm and the castle gates closed down with a thunder.
"I see what you did there!" shouted MP. "I thought about this for some time with Aldimon here!"
"And what's that?!" Harp yelled back.
"That you'll try to escape when the situation gets out of hand!" Aldimon shouted. "And leave us with this shit to deal with!"
...WHEN THEY DO, I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU...All the yelling caused people to slowly walk out of their houses to check the source of the noise.
Carlos walked forward. "Fuck you, MP! You're the killer!"
Another thunder flashed across the sky.
"You're the one wanted to go after Brotato and Tom!" HeadShot joined in.
HeadShot looked at the man. Brotato was right, it was one of their suspects...
"Despite what you said yesterday, Carlos... we should reconsider looking for Tom and Jake. Maybe Brotato's with them and he knows something"
...finished MP."What the hell are you talking about?" MP asked back. "How's that a proof of anything?"
The inhabitants of the castle gathered behind the group, observing the situation.
Aldimon turned to MP. "MP, what's going on?"
But MP ignored him. "You've lost your minds. I knew it'll come to this!" he fired back at the Order.
"People of this castle! World of Curiosities!" MP addressed everyone. "Right now, we're in difficult times, just like the prophecy said. But it also mentioned thet The Division of Heroes will save us from impending doom!"
The storm was getting stronger.
"But now it looks like The Division is about to leave us in our time of need! Simply sneaking out, leaving all of us to die!"
"This is bad" Admin shook his head.
"I wanted to believe the prophecy, even when my belief was not strong" MP continued. "But now that I know it was all false hope, I don't have any regrets revealing this to you"
He waved his hand again and an enormous, spectral view appeared above the castle, with clouds staring to take shapes of human beings. Everyone immediately recognized that view - it was a... memory?... of Admin adressing the crowd that intended to kill TKA several days ago. But his voice was muffled, with something else being clearly heard...
Cloud-shaped HeadShot leaned towards same cloud-shaped Dfh. "
Did he?" he whispered back then, but now his voice thundered accross castle walls. "
I don't remember such thing"
"
Who cares, it's about saving his ass right now" Dfh pointed out. "
Address the fucked-up crowd with convincing words, and idiots will follow you wherever you go. Admin would be a good politician"
The spectre disintegrated while HeadShot remembered the situation and what happened later.
A small gust of wind passed behind them. Both Dfh and HeadShot turned around. They saw Rock, Aldimon, MP and Bio."MP..." Dfh gritted his teeth.
"Oh shit" Crackman gasped.
He looked at the crowd. They didn't look pleased.
"And now" MP continued. "Treating you like idiots, like bags of meat ready to slaughter, they want to flee! Don't let them do that!"
And right that moment, all hell broke loose.
...SO GLAD WE'VE ALMOST MADE IT...The crowd, despite being unarmed, overwhelmingly outnumbered the knights.
"MP, this is wrong!" Aldimon turned to him. "They'll tear each other apart!"
MP turned to him. "They wanted to bail on us!"
"Doesn't mean we'll allow this to happen!" Aldimon motioned at the place bbelow them.
MP gritted his teeth. "Oh yeah?!" he yelled. "Then why don't you fucking join you heroes if you love them so much!"
He then grabbed Aldimon by the neck and threw him out of the balcony. Screaming all the way down, Al was lucky to land in the wagon full of clothes to break his fall. Nonetheless, it still hurt like hell. He stumbled out of the cart moments later
Meanwhile, chaos was ravaging across the courtyard. The knights unsheathed their swords.
"We shouldn't really been doing this, they've been manipulated" Admin said.
But Dfh shook his head. "How's it being manipulation when they were shown the truth?"
Admin looked away. "Huh. Right"
The crowd launched itself at them, roaring all the way.
"Shut up, both of you!" Carlos yelled. "We need to get out of here!"
He threw his hands in the air, with green lines of light appearing on them. He swiftly put them down and the crowd was thrown back by an invisible force.
"And ideas how to do that?!" urged Carlos.
People among the crowd slowly started coming back to their senses...
The knights looked around. Castle gates were closed shut, with no way out. Rock looked at the staff he carried in his hand.
Without thinking twice, he aimed at the wall, casting a giant fireball. It hit the wall with a loud thud, creating a giant gaping hole in it, sending stone blocks flying everywhere.
"Been out of ideas" he shrugged.
"Okay" Harp said with eyes opened wide. "But to get there, we have to make it through an angry mob!"
"I'll take Sos out of here!" ILC shouted. "Try not to get yourselves killed!"
And with that, he took off into one of the nearby alleyways, trying to get away from the fight and to get Sos, still unconscious, to the hole in the wall.
The crow assaulted the knights with everything they had - knifes, wooden planks and any stuff they found on the way or took from their homes.
"I'm not really that good at fighting!" yelled Tormunds. He picked up something from his pocket. "And the only thing I have on me is the telescoping baton I always carry with me"
"Improvise!" Dfh yelled while swinging the sword down on the head of one of his assailants, cracking the skull.
"I never used it in self-defense!" Tormunds replied. When he saw one peasant coming his way, he looked at the camera he had hanging on his neck. He took it off and, not without regret, threw it at the man. The camera hit him in the head, hard, and he fell down. Another man ran at him, and Tormunds extened the baton. He hit the man in the stomach, and after he cringed in pain, Tormunds hit him behind the knees. The man fell down on all fours, but moments later he was hit with a baton in the head.
Tormunds exhaled deeply while Dfh impaled someone on his sword, kicking him off moments later.
"See? Not so bad" Dfh complimented him.
Tormunds smiled. "Okay, we can do it!"
'
Elsewhere, Crackman has just broke a peasants jaw with a hilt of his sword. He grabbed the guy and threw him away, with the man falling through the window of one of the nearby houses.
"Bullseye!" he shouted, victorious. He didn't see a man sneaking upon him. He threw the rope around his neck and pulled as hard as he could.
Crack immediately put his hands around the rope, trying to shake it off - to no avail. He was in a serious need of oxygen. He was weaker... until the rope loosened at he managed to throw it off. He turned around to see that it was Aldimon who smashed a stone block on the man's head. Crack immediately finished the man off by slicing open his stomach, causing its contents to spill out.
"This is wrong" Aldimon said. "But I need to do what's necessary to help you"
Crack nodded, still sighing heavily. "Thanks for that, man. Much appreciated"
"Get them!" was all they heard.
Four men ran towards them. Crack and Aldimon were caught off guard by them, bu they noticed that something golden blinked in the distance and suddenly all four men fell down, their heads cut off. Just nearby, they saw Sonic catching the golden ring, now covered in blood.
"No time for small talk!" he scoffed them and ran away to fight his way through.
Bio looked around.
"More of them coming from the other side of the castle!" he alarmed others. "Can't fight so many of them!"
Rock smashed the claw he had installed in the place of his hand into the eyes of a nearby attacked. The man screamed bloody murder while the red liquid poured out of his now-missing eye sockets. The wizard then turned in the direction Bio alarmed them about.
"I have an idea!" he yelled to him. "Just like we did during the assault on TTG, alright?!"
Bio quickly realized what Rock meant. He aimed at the incoming army with his hand, casting bloodlust crows at them. The very next second, Rock waved his staff and birds caught fire. Some of them attacked their assailants, repeatedly smashing them with their beaks, while some flew down to the ground, causing the fire to rise and effectively blocking the way of the new swarm of enemies.
"High five!" shouted Rock.
Bio highfived Rock's claw with his own feather-covered arm and immediately went towards one of the attackers, scratching his face, tearing off the skin in the process. Meanwhile, Rock focused another guy who tried to hit him with a wooden plank. He grabbed him by the throat with his claw and strangled him, then crushed his throat.
HeadShot tried to shoot his way down, but he ran out of arrows. Throwing the bow away, he picked up the sword and cut at everyone like a maniac, hoping it'll be enough to scare the attackers away. He slit one guy's throat, cut open another one, sliced at the legs of the third and pushed the sword at the fourth one's throat.
"Back off, bitches!" he yelled.
Someone hit him from behind and HeadShot fell to the ground. He pushed himself off of the ground only to see that he was surrounded... but moments later, one of the men was violently picked up in the air. It was Carlos who grabbed the man by his head and swung him up in the air, just like a club. Swinging the man at the nearby attackers, he managed to throw off many of them away. He then let go of the man he was holding in the air, who then landed on another group of attackers, smashing them down to the ground.
"Nice shot!" Said HeadShot while getting up.
"Up and at them" joked Carlos.
The group was now really close to the wall, but there were still some enemies to take care of.
...SO SAD WE HAD TO FADE IT...Zyphon jumped off from the nearby rooftop and landed with a thud on one of the men, killing him with his stiletto. He jumped on another attacker who didn't expect that; he lost his balance and fell on another man. Before they fell to the ground, Zyphon slit both of their throats. He then turned around to see another one of their enemies - excpet this one was slightly bigger guy. He managed to slash at his chest; Zyphon swung his sword once again, but this time the man grabbed the blade. Even though the sharp metal cut at his skin, the man didn't budge. Both he and Zyphon tried to overpower each other - and it looked like Zyphon would loose.
"I'm coming!" he heard. It was Harp, who was fighting off a group of attackers nearby.
"Do it quickly!" Zyphon urged. He kicked the big guy in the knees. He did howl in pain, but didn't let go off the sword.
Harp noticed that Zyphon was in trouble, but this moment of disorientation came with a price; one the peasants slashed at his arm. The blood came out of it, but Harp quickly countered the attack and pierced the man through with his sword.
Kicking another man away, Harp was then hit by an arrow to his arm. Hissing, he broke it off and ran further. He raised his sword in the air and jumped at the direction of the giant.
Before the blade could reach him, he grabbed it with his other hand. He spun around and tore off the sword from Zyphon's hand before stabbing Harp in the arm that was already hurt.
"Motherfuckers!" he shouted.
But Zyphon grabbed his stiletto and stabbed the man in the throat. He fell to his knees while Harp pulled the sword from his arm. Zyphon took his own sword and in the very next moment both knights attacked the man, with Zyphon cutting his head off and Harp cutting his body in half.
"Everything okay? How are you?" asked Zyphon, sighing. Harp was bleeding heavily.
"Feeling like a Swiss cheese" replied Harp, tired. he examined his wounds. "I'll be alright, don't worry."
"Don't leave us, buddy" Zyphon tried to joke.
"I don't intend to" chucked Harp, while killing another man who just tried to attack them. "I died too many times before. If I ever leave you again, it would almost feel like a running gag or something."
"We're almost there!" yelled Admin, slashing his way through. "We need to go, fast!"
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Dfh replied.
Looking back, they saw that some of the crowd wasn't even fighting. They were screaming something and proceeded to destroy the statues of the knights.
"Fucking liars!" some of them yelled.
"Rock, watch out!" shouted Sonic.
The wizard ran towards the group when his own statue fell to the ground. He barely missed it before it landed on the cround, shattered into pieces and causing a giant cloud of dust to rise in the air.
"What's with MP? He isn't even fighting?!" shouted Bio, pointing at the man on the balcony. He was making some strange gestures at something below. They looked for the source of that.
"It's Fox!" shouted Crack.
Fox was helped by Meg. He was still a bit weak after the attack in the morning. Meg helped him move and she was quick to kill anyone on their way.
"Get the fuck out of here, you fucking shitheads!" she screamed. She decapitated a man who was on her way.
Both she and Fox ran away from explosions and other stuff, like house walls, falling on them. It was MP.
"Stand still and I'll make it all go away!" he shouted after them.
"MP has magic powers?!" Carlos asked in disbelief.
"Hence the name!" Aldimon said.
Rock looked at him and Sonic like they were idiots. "Why didn't you tell us before?"
Sonic rolled his eyes. "We thought it was obvious! After all, he's the one who came up with a method to bring you guys here!"
Another explosiosn was way too close and it caused Meg and Dark Fox to fall down. They quickly stood up, but Meg did something Dark Fox didn't expect.
"Eat shit, asshole!" she yelled and - even though they were far away - she threw her sword at MP.
The man stood there, dumbfounded, and barely registered what was happening. He narrowly missed the sword, which hit the wall and went very deep into the stone.
Moments later, the group was together once again, quickly going through the hole, joined there by ILC who watched over Sos.
"This is how it ends!" they heard. Looking behind, they saw MP shouting both at them and at the crowd.
"The Division of Heroes was here to save us from the impending doom." continued MP. "Now it's clear that this 'doom' was none other than them. That's what they do!" he was more and more angry with each word. "They bring disasters everywhere they go! The prediction was correct - they'll save us by removing themselves from our lives!"
The crowd roared in agreement while the knights looked on, worried.
"You were right" said Admin to Dfh. "They were idiots."
"Idiots who trusted us" Carlos hissed, annoyed.
Admin raised his eyebrows. "Can't you see how easily MP manipulated them into hating us?"
"He didn't have to, he showed them the truth" Carlos pointed his finger at him. "It's us who bring trouble, he was right. And it's our inability to solve the problem that brought us here!"
The crowd proceeded to destroy the rest of the statues, ruining whatever trace of The Division of Heroes was left here.
"We should go" HeadShot urged everyone. "Harp needs help and, while they're" he pointed at the crowd "not really much of a problem, we still have MP on our tail. I guess he won't give us much of a head start."
Everyone agreed and fled the place, making their way to whatever was left of House Wellington - the place where their journey began.
******
"Everything's fine?" asked Meg. She was still helping Dark Fox walk.
"Far from it" he replied, but smiled nonetheless. "Thanks for asking."
She was relieved to see him smile. It was a good sign.
"I still can't believe MP's the killer" Sonic whispered.
Aldimon nodded. "Yeah. I mean, we've known him for some time. I wouldn't expect that of him"
"Now that he's not around, can you tell us where did he get the blood to summon us?" asked Bio.
"Or where did he get the idea to bring us back?" Crack inquired further.
But Sonic just shrugged. "Just before bringing you here he traveled somewhere and told us he 'found the blood'. Didn't tell us where."
"Yeah, but as for the teleportation," Aldimon joined in. "he found your journal, with the descriptions and shit" he pointed at Rock.
The wizard thought about this for a moment. "Yeah..." he sighed. "I used to write down the ideas, spells or other things I uncovered. After the castle imploded, it was probably around here... somewhere."
They saw the familiar ruins nearby. In the distance, the clouds darkened above the ocean. They saw someone by the ruins, waiting for them.
"But why would MP do that?" Harp asked, no one in particular. "Why would he want to kill us?"
"At this point, I believe the only person who may have an answer to that question is Brotato" replied HeadShot.
Moments later, they were at the ruins, where TKA and Brotato greeted them.
"You made it, guys!" TKA welcomed them, albeit keeping his distance. Others must've noticed that, because Zyphon stepped out of the line.
"Don't worry, nobody's going to kill you" he assured them.
"That's good." Brotato nodded. "Because we don't have a lot of time. You made it out?"
"Yeah" replied HeadShot. "I brought Aldimon and Sonic along, because I'm sure that MP's behind this."
"We all are" Tormunds joined in. "He did give us one hell of a goodbye."
"Yeah..." muttered Brotato. "As I suspected."
"You're right" TKA agreed. Off everyone's looks, he quickly added, "What? Brotato filled me in on stuff."
"About that" Rock said. "We want to know what the hell's going on too. Care to share?"
"Yeah, su--" started Brotato, but didn't get to finish.
A bright white light blinded them, the ringing in their ears getting unbearable. After it all died down, they saw none other than MP in the distance.
"I knew you'd be that stupid to hide in this ruin" chuckled MP, slowly making his way towards them. "You don't really think it was over back at World of Curiosities?"
Admin pointed his sword at him - so did the rest, except for Brotato. "And what about you? Dropping the caring-for-your-people persona right now?"
"No need to act when the audience is not around" MP laughed back. "But back to business. I'll promise that I probably won't kill all of you if you give me Fox. Brotato, Tom and Jake too, because I'm sure they're here with you."
Before anyone had a chance to reply, Brotato walked in front of the gathering, unsheating his sword. "Tom and Jake are not here" he said. "Fox is, but you won't need him. It's me you're looking for"
The knights didn't know what was happening.
MP stared him down. "How would you know that? Maybe I have plan for the four of you?"
But Brotato shook his head. The wind was getting stronger...
"No, you don't. Because I know who you really are..." he made a pause. "...Nick Coviello, I assume?"
Upon hearing that, MP unsheathed his own sword, while thunders, just like earlier today, flashed across the sky.
