We already knew that. Anybody who read the cutscenes knew all that. This article does not fix anything in HM2.

I should really play again sometime. After I completed it I just stopped playing. Not sure why, since I did like it.

The fact that the dev is being a baby when people say the game is a shit rip off makes it soo much worse too.

For the record, if anyone wants to see the movie equivalent of Hotline Miami, then watch Only God Forgives.
It's a neo-noir crime-drama with an unreliable narrator(the protagonist-protagonist is, anyway), a lot of surreal imagery to back up a twisted, disturbing story broken up with scenes of extreme violence. It's also got an incredibly similar aesthetic at times.
The movie is about two brothers, Julian(Ryan Gosling) and Billy(Tom Burke) who run a criminal organization in Bangkok. When Billy is murdered by a cop, their mother(Kristin Scott Thomas) flies in from London to oversee revenge.
Like... seriously, next to Drive(also directed by Nicolas Winding-Refn and starring Ryan Gosling), this movie is as close to "Hotline Miami: The Movie" as you'll ever get.
And if there ever was a film adaptation of Hotline Miami, no question, it would have to be directed by Nicolas Winding-Refn, and star Ryan Gosling.

I got to the hard mode version of that Pardo dock level yesterday(the one that has shipping containers in the first part and a shitload of glass later on and is very long and ridiculously hard), and I've come to a conclusion.
On a scale from high to very high, they were tripping balls when they made that level. That's the only way they could have not realised it's absolute shit

Who's to say they weren't tripping balls when making the whole game?

I think the story and ending proves they were higher than the goddamn space shuttle throughout the entire development of the game.

Something seems to be happening on the subreddit. this user is doing something; Just take a look at their posts. Either Dennaton are doing an ARG (Seems unlikely unless there's some extra stuff tying in to the level editor) or someone's just fucking with everyone. I think it's interesting either way
