By now you all probably know that I'm going to be roleplaying as Luke in a dungeons and dragons campaign. I'll post some information here later on today about some general background information from the world the campaign will be in.

So, general backstory.
The campaign takes place in the capital city of the Irenes empire. The capital city is a mess largely due to a rebellion against the corrupt/apathetic rule of the current emperor, Eric Syll. The revolution was crushed, but the emperor showed mercy by not executing the rebels. Ever since then, he's gone into hiding, and almost nobody has seen him since. Eric Syll did not even rebuild his own capitol. Louise Grant, Raymond Sanguist, and a nobleman named Andrew Malv (a Follower of Bios (I'll explain it later) and descendant of Avery Malv one of the best empires the empire ever had) assumed control of the city. All three have cut ties with the Emperor. Andrew hated the Emperor’s refusal to rebuild the city, Raymond (who was the man who was in charge dealing with the rebels. More or less used scorched earth tactics on the city) became angry with the Emperor’s decision to not execute the participants of the rebellion, and Louise (unofficial leader of the Carmilites, a gang of thugs who controll a large portion of the city's thugs$ saw Syll’s inactivity as a chance to earn herself more power.
There are two religious categories, Atheists, and those who follow the Pantheon.
Athiests don't worship any deity (obviously.)
The Panthon consists of 5 gods: bios (life, goodness, etc), eudimia(healing, protection) thallasos (nature) thanos( death, evil) and Meis (wrath.) Meis and Thanos are at war with Bios, but have been sealed away by him. The other two are fairly irrelavent at this point.
If something else needs to be explained, or if you are confused, let me know.

Luke's backstory.
Luke was 17 when his village, Nashton (yes, Its based of Nashvile tennessee.) , was attacked by a lich (think intelligent zombie wizard) commanding an army of undead. At that point, everyone he'd ever known up to that point was killed as far as he knows. He saw the reanimated corpses of his mother and father. He managed to get a glimpse of the lich itself, noticing that it was missing its left arm. He suspects that the creature was a follower of Thanos (the death cult. To become a member, you have to amputate a limb. It's not a popular religion) , causing him to hate that religion more than most normal people already do.
He was chased by a small group of undead for several days before being rescued by a paladin by the name of William Carver. The man took him under his wing, and the two of them traveled together for eight years. After about one year of this, William gave Luke one of his swords, Morning's Glory, which he has kept ever since.
At around six years into their adventures, William's moral code started to slide. Shifting from lawful good, to lawful neutral, to lawful evil. The two of them came to blows when William wanted to execute a 13 (I aged her up a bit) year old girl, who said her name was Clem, for trying to rob them. She was suffering from a nasty wound on her left arm, and was trying to take some medicine, and possibly some food. She looked very poorly fed, and was likely from one of the slums of the capital. The two men fought, which resulted in William getting a nasty wound on his right shoulder (although not mortal or crippling), and Luke tumbling off a steep cliff and into an icy lake. He never found out what happened to the girl.
When he woke up, a black furred, blue eyed wolf was staring him in the face, and he was far away from the lake. He guessed that the wolf, for whatever reason, had saved his life. His hair and eyes reminded him of his friend from his childhood, so he named the wolf Nick. The wolf has been by his side ever since, following him around like a lost puppy.
It's been two years since he met the wolf that saved his life when the campaign starts.

Nick needs to be a direwolf. I wanted him to be, but I can't get a direwolf animal companion until a higher level. Besides, he passes for a dog at this point. Direwolves are way too big to be treated kindly by anyone really.
