My favorite characters in order are: Chris, Mike, Sam, Matt, Josh, Jess, Ashley, Emily. Ashley used to be fourth, but god damn she pissed me off. Killing my favorite character puts you down a few spaces.

Yeah, but it's the same with Kenny in TWD, some people love him or hate him depending on their choices. Although I do still thinks it's dumb that she kills Chris for trying to shoot her despite the fact she tells him to shoot her.

So I finished the game yesterday evening.
It was pretty good. The graphics were fantastic, though the framerate was a bit low in certain moments. The voice acting and the facial expressions were top-notch, some animations looked weird.
The story was pretty engaging, especially the first half. As soon as the mysterious man was revealed, the story went a bit downhill in my opinion. The characters were written pretty nicely and I really liked the dialogue options we got (we didn't really get a lot, though). It was interesting to finally see a game where choices really matter.
Overall, I'm very pleased with it. It's not jaw-dropping fantastic, but I wouldn't wanna miss it.

At first I didn't like it but after a while I did, it had some of the most tense parts in the game.

I feel it's more a situation of she's terrified of the possibility of the Wendigo getting in either way, but if Chris "saved" her twice, then she just manages to get over that fear. I definitely don't think it's her making a decision to kill Chris. Then again, if I'd gotten that outcome the first time around, I may not be so willing to look favorably on her actions. She is a much more polarizing character than I first thought.

I'm curious to know what everyone thought of the second half of the story compared to the first. I'm actually a huge fan of Wendigos as monsters, and I felt like the second half had some of the most tense parts. Also, that was when the characters had finally sort of come into their own and where nearing the end of their arcs, so I liked them all a lot more and found their interactions in the second half a lot more enjoyable since they'd all already been through a lot. So, my "vote" would go to the second half, but I've seen a lot of people not liking it.

Also, random question, but if Flamethrower Guy supposed to be Native American? The Sheriff says in the beginning that their suspect(a.k.a Flamethrower Guy) told the Washingtons that the land was sacred to his forefathers. And I keep imagining a situation in which Mike becomes the new Flamethrower Guy. Since in my game, the rangers are probably going to charge him for murder and Jess is already dead, I think it makes sense... He saved everyone's life, so I could see Sam, Ashley, and Chris siding with him against the police(especially Ashley and Chris I'd hope since they both said he should shoot Emily), but at most, I figure he'd post bail or something and they'd still try to charge him with murder. I figure he'd maybe try to go up to the mountain to hide. I mean, he has reason to fight the Wendigos, more so than anyone else since it was his direct failure that got Jess killed by one. Also, he knows how to fight them more than anyone right now. And he befriended that wolf. I just think him becoming the new Flamethrower Guy would be really cool.

I just found the idea of a smart killer a bit more scary. Monsters are predictable and stupid.

At first I was kinda disappointed that they went with the survival horror theme in the second half over a typical slasher, but it kinda grew on me. And yes it was ALOT more tense than the first half. That's partly the reason how I accidentally got Sam killed because I can never hold my controller still enough for that last don't move which is like 20 seconds long or something.

I agree completely, I loved the 2nd half. First too but ya know.

Change of plans, I'm renting it from Redbox. Even if I keep it for 5 days it'll only cost me $15.
