This is easily the strangest news I have read in quite sometime. Rather out of left field you think? I thought EA still had control of the System Shock licences, guess not. Well, I don't know what to say. It's probably good that the grandfather of space horror and father of Bioshock is coming back, but... its been so long, and System Shock 2 surprisingly still holds up. Besides the obvious fact that most original developers are not coming back for this, because most went on to do other projects, like Bioshock. Still though, quite an interesting development from out of the blue.

Strange news indeed. I really wonder how they will adapt this series to the actual generation.

What company's making it? 2K? No, some independent company called OtherSide Entertainment. They are also trying to bring back Ultima Underworld. They apparently have the art director from Bioshock Infinite, and one person from Looking Glass Studios, the company that made System Shock 1, not 2.

Apparently Ken Levine, the man who created System Shock 2, usually considered the better of the two games (including myself) stated he has nothing to do with the reboot of the franchise. He does however wish them luck, and is happy its even being made, especially with EA not being the producer.
