Because almost every single storyline is wrapped up in the end of Season 5. Season 6 only ends some of the long running ones, while introducing a bunch of new ones. Once you're done, I could send you the two good scenes from Season 6, if you want. How is that true? Most storylines continue to season 6, except some unimportant ones. Season 6 has to be watched, even though it fucks up a lot of things. major spoilers ahead. I'd be relatively fine with Season 6, if not for deaths of White and Said, and ending of Alvarez storyline. Schilinger's death and O'reilly bros scenes were good. I can accept how Beecher's story ended. There is still chance he won't be found guilty of Keller's death and will get out after a few years.
And not all storylines ended horribly for the characters. Rebadow had it pretty good, iirc. Hell, even Busmalis, since he gets out of solitary anyway. Vahue got paroled, and there were some deleted scenes of Greg Penders, with him winning 500 000 dolars in court. It doesn't make up for others, I know, but it's something. I was just trying to get him to avoid Season 6.
Anyways, Rebadow and Brusmalis are really the exceptions. Even then, they were side characters. Also, Vahue was paroled, but shortly after was shot dead by Brass. Did you forget about that? As for Penders, that storyline never aired, therefore it never happened.

Wait, Vahue was shot dead? I'm pretty sure he got shot, but survived.
You wouldn't get him to avoid s6 no matter what. I mean, would you do that if I told you what you're saying to Carlos? I'd be too curious about how this alle ends, even if badly.
On a different not, it's one of the few good oz tributes I could find. Lyrics pretty much fit the video and his storyline in general. Seriously, fuck that guy that didn't get him paroled. If there was anyone who deserved that, it was Alvarez.

So, people who have finished Oz, what do you think your favorite episodes are? For me, the variety episode was the most memorable. It was the first episode that Hill was absent from, due to his kidney failure, and instead of monologues, they had this shit:
Not to mention, Gunzel's storyline was pretty fucking sad.

I liked season 1 finale. The riot was pretty intense and that's where show really kicked off. But all episodes kind of blend in one in my memory, so I dunno about other episodes.
I liked the one with Andrew Schilinger storyline, jsut rewatched it recently. And holy shit, I forgot that Beecher was so evil in those times. He was pretty much resembling Schilinger throughout the episode. Often on purpose. Like, "You got any tatoos?" line. Poor kid.

I especially liked when Andrew and Hank narrated an episode. Those were the only narrators that were given distinct personalities from Augustus. The rest just felt like Augustus' words and great thoughts coming from another mouth.

On different note, what are your all favourite characters? It's extremely hard for me to pick just a few, they're jsut too good. 1. Miguel Alvarez. Fucking love this guy. 2. Kareem Said. He gets better with every season, yet gets the most bullshit death in history. I loved his friendship with Beecher, and his development after killing Adebisi. This has got to be one of my favourite scenes.
3/4. I can't really decide on three and four. Those two places belong to Tobias Beecher and Ryan O'Reilly. Both are amazing characters with great development. Beecher slowly falling into darkness, and then getting back to the good side was great. And Ryan was a brilliant manipulator that would do anything for his loved ones. Realy tough call.
5. Simon Adebisi. He's Adebisi, nothing has to be explained.
Honorable mentions go to Redding, who shamefully was heavily underused, Cyril and Omar White. And I'm sure I forgot about someone.

1. Ryan O'Reily. Show-wide spoilers: Charming, devilishly intelligent, yet still human at heart, O'Reily is the best developed character in the entire show. He starts off a false antagonist, spending his time eradicating the Italians, in return for their failed assassination attempt, but he ends up becoming the best person in the cast, with maybe the exception of Beecher. The way he genuinely loved Dr. Nathan was the first sign of goodness we ever saw within him, and his greatness, although briefly muddled by the murder of the good doctor's husband, and his interactions with his rivals, only multiplied, until, by the finale, he was one of the most mature, good-natured, living characters. 2. Augustus HillSeason 5 finale spoilers: The final character to get a good death, Augustus Hill is the voice of reason throughout the show, and I fucking love him. He's intelligent, kind, and forgiving. Fuck, he forgave Burr, the man ultimately responsible for getting Hill in a wheelchair. I can't not love him for that. 3. Miguel AlvarezShow-wide spoilers: If you're reading this, then you know all about Alvarez, and I was so disappointed by his ending, that all I'll say is that before the finale, he would've EASILY made number one. But he gave up. I don't blame him, after everything, but damn. It sucks. For what it's worth, he was more resilient than just about every other character. 4. Kareem SaidWhat a motherfucking badass. Pretty much what Brotato said, about why I liked him. 5. Tim McManus/Father Ray MukadaThe two most interesting staff by far. I couldn't quite decide. Originally, I was gonna go with Tim, but two things made me change my mind. Season 6 spoiler: You are responsible for this, McManus, you fuck. And then this is fucking funny: Honorable mentions (No spoilers): Burr Redding: Very interesting, very unused. Simon Adebisi: You caniving bastard, you. Omar White: Very similar to Miguel, in his resilience, but the end of his storyline ruined it. Fucking ruined it. Zahir Arif: Just about the only other likable Muslim, aside from Kareem. Tobias Beecher: He is an insanely likable main protagonist, but those last episodes kinda killed it for me. Same as Omar White.

I was just rewatching some Oz on YouTube, and I forgot how good Cyril was at fucking everyone up. I'm almost surprised Ryan never used Cyril in his schemes once.

Shit, how could I forget about Hill?
And McManus would made it to honorable mentions at least, but for the same reason Harp posted, nope. Mukada was also good character, especially in the later seasons.

Adebisi' reaction is great, as always. He wasn't legitimately singing there, though. He was more acting than singing. Also, did you change to Mike when I changed to Saul? Because that's not a practice you can keep up by any stretch of the imagination. I change avatars so fucking quick.
