You know what Telltale could've done with Nick and Mike?
If you saved Nick in episode 2, Mike would die in the escape from Carver's camp. And Nick would carry out his character arc, like a Carley/Doug thing.
And if Nick died in episode 2, Mike would do his character shit like normal.
It's so fucking simple, Telltale.

The thing about that is that Mike never really cared too too much about Clementine. Nick definitely did, however. He swallowed his pride and apologized, he (determinately) shared that moment in the shed, and if Nick lived, it was because of fucking Clementine. I don't see him abandoning her like that, and taking all of their food.

At least that would have been far more dignified, I still stand that goddamn it, you could have killed him in episode 4 slightly earlier when Clem is walking in the woods, it at least would have been on screen AND SAD! Instead of, well, you know, bullshit! Seriously what the hell Telltale? I wasn't sad that one of my favorite characters died, rather I was furious that was how they killed him, it's still bullshit!

Hell, y'know what would've made an AWESOME end for Nick? Instead of having the undeveloped character that nobody cares about get bit at the end of episode 3, maybe have Nick get bit. Then it'd be Luke freak out over his friend, and we'd finally have something emotionally effective and not totally despicable in episode 4. Then maybe kill Sarita off in that shootout, and give Kenny a real reason to fucking hate Arvo. If Nick is already dead, then have Sarita get bit as usual.

That is actually a pretty damn great idea, that both shows your great at coming up with fixes, and how bad that choice really was by Telltale, we could write better then that, proof!

Not even that, we could just have had more chances to interact with Nick in episode 3. It would've been great if he felt bad and asked why Walter saved a piece of shit like him and Clem could've have a choice to console him or not.

So, I was just playing through FTL and near the final sector I encountered a familiar face avaiable for recruitment in one of the stores. Check out that Zoltan on the left.
