I've always wondered, why do people care about beaches so much? Why is the Ocean something that people consider so crazy beautiful to look at? I get that not everyone will see the Ocean in their lifetime, and that's kinda weird, I guess, but to the eye from the beach, it's nothing but a bunch of water. And sand. Sand isn't beautiful in the slightest. You don't marvel whenever you open a bottle of Aquafina, why do you marvel at this body of boring water.

It's more of the traditions of a beach day that intrigue people. Then there are the nature people that find beauty in everything. It really depends on what type of person you are.

No, I am. Beaches are just boring. I don't get how someone could just sit on the beach. Oh, and just so you know, most beaches, at least the ones I've been to, smell like shit. This means Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, this means the beaches of San Francisco, the beaches off of highway 101, everything.

It's so beautiful watching all of these 20 year old dudes sun tanning, along with the one 50 year old fat man with a hairy chest doing the same. Or people sitting under an umbrella in a sunny day. It would be beautiful if we could see the fish and things in the water, but you can't, really. Occasionally, you'll find something dead strangled in a bunch of seaweed, which, seaweed is everywhere on the beach.

I love the beach. It's relaxing because it's unfamiliar. I like reading the paper or a book. Eating lunch, drinking ice cold drinks from the cooler. Throwing the football around. The ocean has lost its luster for me over the years though. Mostly just float around until I freeze then get out.

The bros go to the boardwalks, and the people who want pristine beaches go to a tropical resort.
