Yeah. His son looked so strange to me when I first saw him, but I couldn't quite place it for a while until I noticed that you could see his eyes. Freddie had eyes. Not consistently. We only really saw them in the flashback where His wife died.

Also, all of the other kids in the game had eyes.
Also, a little bit of a history lesson.
The main reason Britain got into the war wasn't because Germany attacked France. They had a treaty with France, but it was rather week. France had a fairly strong defense along the German border, but not against the Belgian border (a small country between France and Germany, and where Anna is from). The German plan to invade France was simple. Tell Belgium they would be borrowing their country for a while, and then invade France. Belgium decided to fight Germany instead of letting the Germans quite literally roll over them. Britain had a treaty with Belgium, but this treaty was much stronger. Thats why they entered the war.

On a less historical note, what was up with deciding that all the birds should have backpacks and helmets?
Also, far from subtle actually has a really good lets play of this game.

I would imagine that the birds with helmets and whatnot were actually messenger pigeons, with their "uniforms" to illustrate that.

I like the dog. I mean, who wouldn't? Unless, you're a cat person. I'm a cat person. That being said, I loved Walt (that's the dog's name). He was like the anti-Sam. I'm glad that he survived, too. He is the absolute definition of anti-Sam, one of the best dogs ever, you will LOVE him TKA, hell before I learned his name, I accidentally called him my real dogs name.

I think the bird that saved the Lost Battalion in 1918 had a uniform.

So I finished the game. Is it bad that I cried more than the ending of season one? No, not at all, because this stuff happened, that makes it worse in a way.

Let's not forget they feared Germany would try to take its colony's in Africa and the Pacific, that was also a reason.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you, how far you into a game of thrones?

Also, I've been meaning to ask you, how far you into a game of thrones? 300 Pages, half way through, really loving it, reading about 20 pages in, it really adds a lot of context and meaning to the show and its characters, and best of all, I can actually remember there names!

Well I didn't expect it to take that rout, I expected death in the Somme or Verdun, I was not expecting it to end like fucking Paths of Glory, once I found out what was happening, yeah, I cried, yeah, I did, damn, and this stuff happened, 50 people died because of it, also I had never heard of that battle, now I do, thank you Valiant Hearts, also, fuck you for pulling my heart strings!

Well this is my non spoiler review of the game, just buy it! Not since Spec Ops: The Line have I seen a unique war game, and like Spec Ops, it doesn't glorifies war in the way COD or Battlefield does. It explores two things rarely done in games, the human aspect of war, and World War I, both of which are incredibly rare. I loved it, it conveys story without much words, which might not be necessarily better then one with words, but its unique and different and worth praises. The characters are all great, you quickly get attached to them, you understand there plight, and hope for the best, and it doesn't go well for everyone, also the dog is one of the best dogs in gaming. I can go on and on about this, really I can, at the moment, I see no reason NOT to give it a 10/10, seriously, I found little to no reasons to hate it, the graphic style was cool, the story emotional, the characters likable, and I walked away knowing a great deal of information about World War I, and I am not a slouch, I know a lot, so that in itself is beyond amazing, thank god for Ubisoft, and for the moment, my leading GOTY!
