I'll honestly probably forget when the actual day comes around, because my party and everything is always long before my actual birthday, so I'll say it now, I'm gonna turn eighteen in the next month. Hooray for me. Huh, I thought you were older than me. I mean, I knew we were basically the same age, but I just had an idea that you were probably a bit older than me. don't really know why I thought that. That sounds like a compliment to me. Thanks buddy.

Can't wait to turn 17 in 8 months. I'll be able to get a driving license and legally have sex, but more important than that I'll be able to tick the 17-18 box in this thread.
actually, all joking aside I am really looking forward to getting a driving license. Even though I still probably won't actually be allowed to drive for a while after that because insurance is too expensive.
It always feels strange to think about how Americans are allowed to drive at the age of 15. That just seems so weird to me. Like you could be not even in high school but be allowed to drive a car. the fuck

I've had my permit for almost a year and still don't have my license. Also, Heis, if you're 15 you're.... pretty much in Highschool here unless you've dropped out or were held back. And again, that's only a permit. You've got to be 16 for your license. So, 15 year olds have to drive with another licensed driver in the car.

Guess I have more to learn about America. Still weird to me though

Guess I have more to learn about America. Still weird to me though Highschool is four years. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior(or just, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) I'd say most people get their permit in Sophomore year, then they probably have a license by Junior. At least, that's how it was at my school. By Junior year, a few people were driving to school, by Sophomore, a lot more. Not everyone, of course. I still only have a permit, though I'm pretty close to getting my license. My friend V has her permit to(and has had it for maybe a year longer than I have), but isn't really anywhere close to getting her license. You need a 5-hour driving class and 50 hours of driving time(they can't be sure, of course, just, enough driving time to pass the test pretty much), or you need to take a driving class(V is doing that, but she has a lot of anxiety over driving so, she'll finish her class soon and then still not be able to drive any faster than 20 mph.) So...... I mean, there's a lot of requirements and testing, they just give out a permit earlier so that people have time to learn so they can get their license once they're old enough for it.

I never had any urges to learn to drive manually until I saw Rhys do it in the Busy Earnin' intro. I'm too influenced by fake people.
I remember taking driver's ed over the course of a week. Five straight days of sitting in a classroom from early morning until mid-afternoon. Pure fucking torture. One class I missed out on getting a seat near my friends and the instructor didn't let me move. This was before everyone had cellphones. I had to sit there for 6-8 hours with nothing to entertain me except doodling.
Come to think of it, most things about being a teenager sucked big, long fucking dick.

You must have a good dad. yeah I shoud've been clearer. it's not about the fact that he drives stick, but the "until" that bothers me. like are we talking about a normal fucking stick shift or driving automatic and shifting up gears manually which is possible.

Here you have to be 17 t be able to legally drive... with another guy who knows how to drive at your side. At 18 you can do it by yourself. I already know how to drive, I was thaught by my dad, but I just can't get a license yet since I am 16 :c
I'll be able to in some months, so that's cool.

I actually learned from one of my friends who refuses to drive anything but manual. Funny thing is I had no interest in learning how to drive manual (I'd been driving for about a year before Tales Ep. 1 came out), but as soon as I played Ep. 1 I begged my friend to teach me how to. Bonus points are that as soon as I learned how to drive stick I realized the car I have right now has a manual option, so I always use it on the highway.
