I'm just going off what I know here. Who said more than 8 maps? And did they mean DLC?
It was one of Dice's devs, here's the qoute.
"Also, please stop with the reduced number of maps. We have more than 8 maps," he wrote. "How many have not been announced yet, but it's more than 8."
Which brings me to my previous statement.
We dont know everything this game will have to offer, and chances are we will get the answer to that at E3. There is a real chance they have a new mode to replace galatic conquest, and since they noticed the fans mentioning the reduced maps, or atleast the seemingly reduced maps, that tells me they are aware of the fears fans have.
We havent seen everything yet, and E3 is not far away.
"Yes the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man." -Ozzy Osbourne - Ordinary Man.
Actuallty, that is incorrect, not only is this entire conversation subjective and thus, nothing is factual, but you didnt even consider a key element, the game features a third person camera aswell, just like the previous games.
Quality over Quantity my friend, its gameplay that will decide this games fate, those features would be pointless if the game isnt fun to play.
Good gameplay is pointless if there's isn't shit in the form of fun modes or good maps.
Quality matters a lot, but so does quantity. Remember Titanfall? That had good gameplay and was fun, but you know what killed it? Content, there just wasn't all that much to go around, and it eventually it died out rather quickly, good gameplay didn't save it!

I played the beta of Battlefront and was pleasantly surprised, still doesn't feel like a Battlefront game, but it is a pretty damn good Star Wars game in general. Also for anyone worried that it would be a Battlefield reskin, it's not. It has similarities but is way different.
