Okay I am going to speak my mind on this matter right now, you probably think I am 100% okay with a Frozen 2, not fully. I am somewhat mixed on the idea, mostly because there is no way you can beat the original, I mean I know people must have said the same thing about Toy Story 2, but really now, it's not happening. But, but, I will admit that I am interested in the idea of a second film. Out of all the fairy-tale films, Frozen works better then most for a sequel, I stand by that there is nothing you can do for a second Beauty and the Beast film, mostly because all conflict was resolved, and there is nothing you can do really to make more conflict that will not mess with the original film. Frozen though, well it did rap up nicely and didn't sequel bait, it does allow for expansion and there are plenty of ideas for new story's. Hell, just Wikipedia Norwegian folklore, you'll find a ton of interesting things that can work for a sequel. My personal favorite is undead zombie vikings that can also control snow and ice (that is really a thing, they were called Draugers, they were also in Skyrim) but that's just me. Plus, well, I cannot say that I do not love the characters, because I do quite a lot. And I know for a fact they will get the same team of writers, hell they are clearly the ones that want to do it, seeing how it took Disney, what, 16 month's to announce this instead of doing it out of the starting gate. Yes this also without question means new songs from the same song writers, which is a major plus for me, and a negative for some, but we all know where I stand on that. So I am mixed, but I suppose I am optimistic for the future, I mean hell this will be the forth sequel ever made by the studio, second sequel that continues the story, and the first sequel to a fairy-tale/princess film. You know what, I guess the more I think about it, the most optimistic I get, go figure, what can I say, I guess my thoughts on the project is a series of doors with endless possibility and answers.

Who cares if he formats it All I can see is The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation, And it looks like I'm the queen. The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried! Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know! Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door! I don't care What they're going to say Let the storm rage on, The cold never bothered me anyway! It's funny how some distance Makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me Can't get to me at all! It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free! Let it go, let it go I am one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You'll never see me cry! Here I stand And here I'll stay Let the storm rage on! My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I'm never going back, The past is in the past! Let it go, let it go And I'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That perfect girl is gone! Here I stand In the light of day Let the storm rage on, The cold never bothered me anyway! I suppose I have no choice but to stream it now. What's a good time?

Okay this is an announcement to everyone here, I am going to see Cinderella today, so I will have a full report on the film (and the obvious Frozen short) later today, and I promise it won't be biased, so if the short wasn't great, I will be honest. Well anyway, see you in a couple hours.

Well anyway, see you in a couple hours. Now what's it gonna be, If you don't like my peaches then don't shake the tree. Maybe it's sad but it's easy, The sick ship rolls, it takes a little to please me. Go cross me off your list, No use to be a part of a world that don't exist. I'm giving up the fight, I never getting paid but somewhere there's a light
I couldn't care less 'Bout sunny or shine I couldn't care less What broke me this time I couldn't care less That's why I'm drummin' it out I couldn't care less That's all I care about Such a good drama, oh oh Such a good drama, oh oh oh I couldn't care less That's all I care about
If I am bored though I'm bound Maybe I'm lost but I don't need to be found My dreams don't match my pay I'll be resting in my cage and forever's just a day Why, where and how F*ck the past, the past ain't now 'Cause I ain't got the time Some things could be better but there's too much on mind

Well I am back, and I have a full report on the film and you know, the little seven minute short to that little film no one talks about. Well first off, the actual meat, the film itself, of which I am 100% sure no one cares about. Fine, I get that it, if you want to hear about only the short, then skip to the bottom.
Okay, so everyone here very much knows my opinion on the previous fairy-tale adaptations, in that they were awful. From Alice in Wonderland missing the entire point of Alice in Wonderland by a country mile, to last years Maleficent making the mistress of all evil good, they have been just dreadful. So believe me when I say, when I first heard of this film back in May of 2014, I was pretty optimistic to say the least. I fully expected them to change it so that the step-mother is actually caring, and ends with Cinderella in a large battle and her killing people with a sword. But... none of that happened to my surprise, it was actually faithful, a word I can't say often about movies nowadays.
Yes, the film is refreshingly traditional, it doesn't poke fun at fairy-tales, nor is it dark just for the sake of it, it was faithful to the original while also updating a few aspects of the original. That was all I ever asked for and it did just that. Cinderella herself is shockingly the same as she was in the original, I was so sure that Disney would be forced to make her more proactive to please the vocal critics, but they didn't, and I feel that was the best choice in the long run.
Performance wise, it was again surprisingly good. Lily James did a great job as Cinderella, so good in fact that I would say it was on par with Ilyn Woods performance in the original, and I am going to say right now that I feel she is the definitive Cinderella. Richard Madden AKA Robb Stark did a great job as the prince, a character that pretty much had no character in the original. He added a lot of life to the role, something I totally expected after watching Game of Thrones. Cate Blanchett did a fantastic job as Lady Tramaine, she really nailed the spirit of the original character, she was very subtle just like the late great Eleanor Audley. The rest did a good job, there wasn't a person I can point to and say they weren't trying.
Music was provided by Patrick Doyle, who has done the score to a lot of period films, and I feel it was pretty good. It made certain scenes feel more grand and powerful, which is what orchestral music is meant to do, it sometimes invoked the memory of the orchestral music in Titanic, the music not the songs. Speaking of songs, it is a bit of a shame that the great songs from the original are not song in the film, but it does well enough that it doesn't require it. Besides, two of the best songs from the original are in the credits, so really it's fine.
Now this is a subject I never talk about in films, because I rarely ever care. The outfits in this film were spectacular, and I never say that, because I could care less about the costumes of a film. But here, they were pretty great, they fit each character like a glove, and brought what I feel is a lot of identity to the film. Don't expect me mention outfits again if I ever review another film here, but for this one time I feel it was worth mentioning. On a side note the vast majority of the film uses sets instead of CGI, which believe me is a welcome change of pace, seeing how the last two adaptations were chalked full of CGI, here, it's understated.
I could go on about this film for a bit more, but I feel it isn't needed. I really, really liked it, and believe me, I am SHOCKED! I should have hated this film, no really it should have been awful! It should have been unfaithful to the classic, it should have missed the point of the story by a country mile. It should have had actors who were clearly either miscast, or really bored and not trying. It should have been a CGI fest, it should have angered me, but it did none of the above. Now I can't see this being a norm in the future, I am not jumping on the live-action bandwagon because of one great film. I still feel that Beauty and the Beast is a terrible idea and shouldn't be done and likely won't be great. I still say live-action Dumbo is just plain dumb, none of those opinions are changing. But, I can gladly say I was wrong about this film, I laughed, I cried, and I loved every minute of it. If your ever dragged off by your girlfriend or daughter, take solace in the fact that it's not terrible, it's in fact great.
Okay, now for what I must assume is the grand event here, the Frozen short, Frozen Fever. Was it good? Did I like it. Well, I must admit there is not much that can be said about it. It's a short, plain and simple. Well let me put it to you this way, yes I enjoyed it, it was fun and it was great to see these unforgettable characters again. But it's a short, it's seven minutes, it's not going to change your mind if you hated Frozen, and it won't be better then the original film, because it's a short. Also it's worth knowing that there are a lot of references and in-jokes that you simply won't get if your not a fan of Frozen, so it's not really for everyone. It was a good short though, it did have a good new song that I probably will download, it did have all the characters and there respectable voices, and it looked great just like the original. It was a nice little feast to the main event, I certainly didn't forget about it, and I am very glad I saw it, but if your only going to see the movie just for the short, I don't think it's worth it. I say it's about as good to maybe a tad bit better then Tangled Ever After, which I feel is enough information for you to decide. It does however give me faith that Frozen 2 is in good hands, these people have not lost there touch one year later, and it feels good to know that.
