What do you mean 'no free roaming'? Imagine GTA without any running around and randomly killing people. It's do the missions, and your done with the game. Wait, is there no free roam whatsoever? if so that's horrible, a shame to because the city looks quite nice.

That can't be true, your lying, right? Because no one on Metacritic is complaining about that, at all, and the drop in quality is far to extreme.

Not so much for 360. During missions you can drive around in the city, yeah but no off mission exploring.

So there is, and there isn't? Why has no critic mentioned this?

So i just finished it yesterday and here's what i think, gameplay wise it's a lot of fun, the gunplay is solid (even if the gun sounds are crap but i'm not the type of person to get bothered by that)and all of the guns have a unique feel to them, although all you really need is a silenced pistol for most of it since one shot to the head or neck is an insta-kill with any weapon it's still fun to switch around with the weapons. There's also a lot of weapons to mess around with although they mostly just consist of handguns, shotguns machine guns and snipers there is a lot of them and there are various thing you can craft like IEDs and EMPs. The hacks are fun but limited and nowhere near as complicated and diverse as the trailers made it seem, it's basically just hold this button to explode or distract enemies although the ones found throughout the city like bollards and traffic lights are very satisfying to hit with during a car chase.
The controls are tight and work well, I'd probably describe them as Assassins Creed mixed with Splinter Cell which sounds like an odd combination but works very well. The driving doesn't feel realistic but it's fun and each type of car handles differently. The city that you free roam in when your not doing missions feels lively and has plenty of things to do in it with various side mission AR games and digital trips, where you do things like control a spider tank and mow down zombies in a death car, the city is also a decent size with quite a lot in it and it also expands into the country side which is a nice change.
The multiplayer consists of racing, decryption, hacking, tailing and free roam, racing is exactly how it sounds, free roam is fine but a bit lack luster in things you can actually do in it, i think they're should be some sort of side missions or something you can do with your friends, and then their is tailing and hacking, tailing which is my favorite mode you enter someones game without them knowing and follow them around without them noticing you, and if they do notice you it becomes a big chase where they have to kill you and you have to escape, which is harder than it sounds,in hacking you enter into someones game only this time it alerts them and you have to hide somewhere while you hack into their phone and if they find you again it results into a chase scene, personally i really like these invasion modes especially because it adds a sense of paranoia knowing someone could be watching at anytime (you can turn them off, of course).
The story is ok but nothing spectacular, the main character, Aiden Pearce is one of the most boring protagonists I've seen with little to no personality, luckily the supporting cast are much more lively and interesting although i never really cared about any of them.
Graphically the game looks nice especially the lighting and particle effects and although they're nowhere near as good as the graphics in the E3 2012 trailer (not even on PC on ultra) it doesn't look bad by any stretch of the imagination.
I probably missed something out that i meant to say about, but i think that's enough, overall I'd give it a 7.5

Also forgot to mention the story took my around 40 hours to finish(with some free roam and multiplayer of course) so probably about 20 hours if you just rush through it.

I just started it. Looks pretty good so far. I'll post my thoughts when I'll get to know the game better.

Yeah I actually like this game better, the free roam doesn't entirely bother me though.

Well shit, he looks so badass, I guess I got my hopes up to high that the character would be good.

Imagine if Batman (the Christopher Nolan one) didn't have the whole fear thing going for him and was never Bruce Wayne, that's Aiden Pearce, and the story isn't bad it's just not great.

Well fuck, again I expected a badass main character, for the love of god Assassins Creed does that with ease, except for 3 but whatever.

I've been playing it for a few days, just love going around profiling people and seeing all kinds of wacky things in their bios. Anyone try hacking a street sign? The sayings are hilarious.
