Could you imagine how bad that would be if this was canon gameplay? Like, we're gonna build this up over a season and a half and NOPE.

AftermathLuke woke up in the dead of night to the sound of wailing and crying. Lying on the bed, he stared distantly at the white-washed ceiling before swinging his legs round and placing his feet on the creaking, wooden floor. He trudged wearily through the blacked room and into the hallway, gently rushing his fingers along the wallpaper as he made his way along the corridor and into another bedroom.
Lying in the crib, which was placed in the centre of the room was a small infant, it's mouth wide open and it's red raw tonsils visible as it screamed loudly. Luke let out a deep sigh as he approached the crib and scooped up the baby in his arms "Okay, okay, I get it. So what's wrong, huh?" He asked the small child as if he was expecting an answer "Are you hungry? Bored? Tired? Thirsty? .... Do you need your nappy changing?"
The young man sat down on the sofa opposite the crib and rocked the baby gently "I suppose you're just tired." He murmured "We both have had a really long day" he said softly, lifting his finger and tapping the baby's nose teasingly, and the child let out a small giggle in response. He continued to rock the baby for several minutes and just about as he was getting her off to sleep a loud bang came from downstairs and startled the two of them.
Luke leapt off the sofa and nearly dropped the baby in the process. "What the fuck was that?" He exclaimed in a harsh whisper. The little baby girl in his arms started to whine "Hey, don't make any noises, okay. I'm just gonna check this out, you stay here." He told the infant as he placed her back in the crib. "I'll be right back"
Luke felt the handle of his machete press against his back and shoulder blades as he reached for the revolver placed in the holder which was attached to his belt. What could possibly be the source of the noise? A lurker? A person? Maybe a bandit? Or worse.... Carver. Luke shuddered as he drew his gun and came to the top of the staircase, staring down into the void of darkness which cloaked the ground floor.
Only one way to find out. Digging deep into the pit of his soul he found the courage that he needed for this inevitable throw down with the unknown threat and made his descent.

Moonlight shone through the gaps in the boarded up windows, the sliver glow providing some visibility as Luke reached the bottom of the stairs. He approached the front door which was now open, with the lock busted. "Fuck" he cursed, slamming the door and shutting out the cold winter weather.
He glanced round, blinking hard and trying to focus on the darkest areas in the room. As his eyes focused, he noticed a figure dart across the kitchen doorway. Luke narrowed his eyes and stared hard, an anger beginning to boil away inside him as he stormed in the kitchen, gun in hand.
The shady figure was searching through some of the cupboards and drawers, so Luke assumed that it was just some helpless survivor in search of food. But he couldn't be sure. The young man lifted his gun and snapped off the safety, aiming directly at the stranger's head "Hands in the air!" He yelled.
The stranger immediately threw his hands up and remained perfectly still "Easy fella. Listen I- I didn't know someone was livin' here". That voice sounded awfully familiar.
"I won't pull the trigger unless you give me a good reason, just turn around and come into the light. Slowly." He ordered.
The stranger did as he was told, turning around he took a small, shaky step forward and allowed himself to be bathed in the light of the full moon. Luke's eyes widened in shock as he met eyes with an all too familiar face "Kenny?!" He exclaimed in surprises, quickly lowering his gun.
The older man stood in the sliver glow wearing his green coat and orange ball cap. His rough grey beard covered most of his face, his one eye glinted and sparkled while the other eyelid was held firmly shut with a large, swollen bruise on the side of his head. "Luke...? Holy fuck, fancy running into you. I thought I'd finally seen the last of ya" he commented. Luke wasn't sure if he was kidding or not.
"Well, it's nice to see you too" Luke replied warmly.
Kenny glanced around worryingly "Hey, Luke... Where's Clem?" He asked anxiously.
"Come on over to the table and I'll fill you in on what's been happenin'" Luke told him, placing his gun back in it's holder and leading Kenny out of the kitchen.
