From what we have all seen of carver, he looks like he is an irredeemable piece of shit. In my play through, he: -Came into the cabin uninvited. -Used my favorite 400 days character to attack the group. -Tortured Carlos. -Killed Walt, a.k.a the nicest man in the zombie apocalypse. -Pistol whipped Clem in the stomach. -Picked her up and put a gun to her head. Its safe to say that this guy is not a good man. However, I'm almost certain that he doesn't take any special pleasure out of being ruthless per say. I think he wants control, and he will do whatever it takes to get that control. Even still, he doesn't just kill people for convenience sake. If he did, wouldn't he have just shot Alvin no matter what happened? That way Rebecca would be his, along with her unborn child. But I'll cut to the chase. In the preview for In Harms Way, we see these three shot's: I'll admit, these are preview shots, so take them with a grain of salt. Say what you will about Carver, nobody is denying that this guy is smart. Not anyone can just glance at a chess board and determine that one side is three moves away from checkmate. He isn't going to be brutal just for the sake of brutality. He wants to keep his head on his shoulders. Furthermore, maybe he sort of has a respect for Clementine just being alive for so long. You can't be too stupid and still be alive, he knows that. He makes a big speech about forgiveness in the trailer, maybe he isn't gonna hold Clementine's brief association with the cabin group against her. Another possibility is that he almost views Clementine as a "practice run" for his own child. In that case, he's off to a shitty start.
What do you guys think about any of this?

I'll fight him tooth and nail as long as it's an option to do so. He's a vile piece of shit.
It could be that he's TOO smart. Maybe he recognizes that Clementine is smart and capable, but also thinks he can get in her head and eventually control her. That'd be underestimating Clem, which we know she hates from a dialogue option in episode 2. It'd be awesome if Clem played Carver like a fool a la an undercover. She lets him believe he's won her over or whatever and then boom, she's takes whatever she's learned from him and outsmarts him.

I agree, he will not hate on Clem, Kenny though, he is going to get beat.

Yeah, I feel a Star Wars thing with Carver being the Palpatine to Clementine's Anakin and will try to turn her into his loyal soldier. But, depending on your choices, we can join Carver or not.

Does him coming into the Cabin uninvited really count toward him being an irredeemable piece of shit? Sorry about the nitpick, but that just seems so minor when it's listed along with everything else.
Besides, he was pretty polite during that scene.

Yep, I love how he uses a friends name just like Clem can, I see many battles with brains then bullets.

All of the them together make him a piece of shit. Hell, I'm writing a fanfic where Andy St. John gets a redemption arc. Nobody is irredeemable in my book.

Also I think he meant to use the name George to mess with the cabin survivors. I wonder how Alvin must have felt about that, considering he killed George.

You're right. I knew Carver was smart but the chess board like passed right by my head, guys brilliant. You know what this means? Chess is a game of strategy, and Carver is an expert strategist. Were looking at Napoleon 2.0 here guys, and he's gonna start a war. Yes, I'm history buff (just like Omid )

Yes, I'm history buff (just like Omid ) Yep, chess is the game of kings, more bad news, that gun he uses is a Colt Python, same gun Rick uses, so that means either Carver killed a cop, or was a cop, which would explain the holster, and how he is a accurate fucker.
