That moment where I'm on the Prydwen listening to Maxson make some speech or whatever and have Synthstream FM radio blaring through my PipBoy just because.

Nuka World on August 30th. Last DLC.
I know a lot of people didn't much care for this game compared to 3 or New Vegas, but I'm really gonna miss playing it. Had a ton of fun.

The game is certainly flawed... in *many* ways... and disappointing... and half the DLCs have been shite workshop add-ons worth maybe half their price... but I'm actually a bit sad it's coming to an end too. It is Fallout, after all.
Well, it's more akin to some greasy, ambitious hobo skinning Fallout alive and wearing it as a moist, sloppy flesh-suit while trying to pretend that "No, for real, I really am him", and failing miserably. But again, it is Fallout, after a fashion. And despite everything I just said, I can still enjoy the game for what it is.

Not yet sure if my computer can run Fallout. If it can, making a Fallout mod would be fun. I liked messing around with the Skyrim creation kit, but I think it'd be more fun to make something for FO.

Speaking of the Creation Kit, has anyone else have the issue of having nothing in the cell view when you load the master file.

Didn't play anything else for two month's, sad its over. It took a steaming dump on the lore, for one, and took away true choice from a series that actually shows you the consequences of your actions. The radiant quests were incessant and unending and made for a poor substitute for actual quests, and after reaching the Institute I just somehow lose all interest. And the voiced protagonist, dear God, I won't start with how that crashed and burned. But you know, the gunplay is at least good, and Boston is a more or less interesting sandbox to play in. I don't hate the game. I like it, but it still really disappoints me at times.

The opening narration specifically mentions how America and the world began using atomic power to make robots and fusion powered cars and crap not all that long after World War 2, citing it as a "Limitless resource". But one of the biggest reasons the Great War happened, in addition to Democracy v Communism, was the shortage of resources, namely oil. It's why China invaded Alaska. And that just plain isn't possible if you have the "Limitless energy" of nuclear power. In Fallout America only started using that technology for power about a decade, if that, before the Great War after the oil rain completely out. The intro of 4 also describes how America was a luxurious utopia before the war when it was really a fascist hellhole, complete with televised executions of dissidents, riots in the streets for food, inflation about 10x worse than anything we've seen in reality, and full blown concentration camps that ran sick, Joseph Mengele-esque science experiments on their Chinese inmates. Plus they didn't have Ron Perlman narrate.

Just saying, and I was somewhat okay with no Ron Perlman, though I certainly wouldn't have said no to it. The only thing that struck me as odd was the Vertibirds in the prologue. I wasn't bothered by that.

Very happy I chose the female character so I didn't have to deal with the terrible male voice actor. And honestly, the fact that the game was set in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, specifically in areas I'm pretty familiar with made the world very fun for me. It's a perfect match, Fallout and the rich history of one of America's birthplaces.
Oh, and why the fuck haven't Fallout 3 and New Vegas been remastered for PS4 yet? Every other production company is tugging their hogs and jizzing out remastered editions if their game was even somewhat successful. You'd think one of the most well-reviewed and beloved franchises would get the same treatment.

But hey, I played Nora, not Nate, so he's dead. Also, the Ron Perlman thing, while I don't like it, it isn't really a big thing. It really should have been him since not only has it always been him, but he was even in the game. It's not something I hate so much as something that bugs me. Also, what about the Vertibirds?

To be fair I played as Nora as well, its funny to have the narrator be dead in ten minutes. I don't know, I just read that as an unreliable narrator thing, propaganda was everywhere. The Vertibird thing was, weren't they just prototypes when the world ended? That's what Fallout 3 said, yet they show up at the start. Eh, maybe I forgot something. Well I do miss Ron Perlman, hope he comes back for the next one, if he's still alive. I felt like it worked, but if I had a choice, your damn right I would have went with Perlman.
