I feel that House is the best ending if you're looking for happiness but the NCR also has quiet a bit of good. I side with them because they're the most "western" of the factions and I feel sorry for the troops stuck in the Mojave. But if those troops were even a little like Oliver or Moore or Kimball, then I'd pick house every time. I don't know about happy, nothing really changes, and some people get wiped out, with the NCR, I feel the least amount of people get screwed over, and a powerful military faction is in charge, keeping the people safe, hell they can even become friends with the Brotherhood of Steel.

House is actually developing ways for humanity to abandon Earth and find a new clean planet to colonize so that everyone won't be forced to live in a radioactive crater where mutant wasps and other assorted creatures of the wastes want to do any manner of nasty things with them. And NCR is corrupt as all hell. The troopers and the citizens are all just normal folks, but several of the higher ups are bad people. Kimball is imperialistic and the Mojave campaign (that's more about getting the Dam and Vegas for NCR rather than protecting the denizens of the Mojave itself from the Legion) has cost the NCR thousands of lives for relatively little to no gain by the time the game starts. Oliver was given the rank of General because he laughs at the President's jokes and generally kisses ass, and his crappy strategies have resulted in many of the deaths the NCR has suffered among its armed forces. Hell, the Legion would have straight up taken the Dam and the Mojave and then massacred, slaughtered, beheaded, enslaved, crucified, raped, pillaged, and all manner of other nasty verbs all the may to the Mojave Outpost if it hadn't been for the intervention of the Courier. Colonel Moore is just using her position and power to settle old scores with enemies, such as the Great Khans and the Brotherhood, and only uses the current situation the NCR is in to justify it. The NCR has a ton of problems, it's just that most of them are with the bureaucracy of the government and unseen by the player.

True, but if House is truly good, then why does he want to kill the Brotherhood? Why does he wipe out the Kings if they become friends with the NCR?

True, but if House is truly good, then why does he want to kill the Brotherhood? Why does he wipe out the Kings if they become friends with the NCR? Several reasons. The Brotherhood would try to destroy/take control of his securitrons and wrest control of Vegas away from him due to their rampant hoarding of advanced technology. If House wants his plans to ever come about, then he really has to destroy them. As for the Kings, it's one of his dick moves, but the NCR has its fair share of those as well. Such as uprooting the Great Khans and imprisoning them on a reservation even if they help the NCR fight the Legion at Hoover Dam.

True, true, I don't know where you got the finding a new planet from, where did you get that? House says so when you talk to him. You actually have to ask him about his plans though, because if you just do the jobs and stuff he doesn't tell you much.

Really? Well personally that idea is kind of a pipe dream, it ain't happening, it just isn't, and even if it did, how would it make things any better?

Sorry to interrupt the New Vegas talk, but I've just discovered my favourite Fallout 3 perk, Lawbringer. It allows you to be a bounty hunter- a member of the Regulators, who are a group dedicated to ridding the world of evil by killing Raiders and Slavers and such. You give them bad guys' fingers(found on their corpses when you have the perk), you get caps and Karma in return.

There's also a perk for Evil players called "Contract Killer" which allows you to do essentially the same thing, but evil. You take the ears of good characters and turn them in to the Talon Company Mercs for a reward (I don't know how much it is) and instead of Talon Mercs hunting you down, it's the Regulators. I prefer siding with the Regulators though, which shouldn't be a surprise given my stated fondness of westerns. I've actually never taken the Contract Killer perk. I think I should do a Bad Karma playthrough the next time I boot up Fallout 3.

Bit of a thread necro, but I feel that this is worth it. I was just browsing YouTube earlier today when I ran across one of most epic Fallout videos I have ever seen. Essentially, it's the first quest from New Vegas, but it's just so... just watch. You won't regret it.

I've finally got around to playing New Vegas, and holy shit, it is awesome. I enjoy it much more than F3. Everything got improved in NV.
I got kinda spoiled by reading this entire page, but fuck it. I've just went to Caesar's camp to find Benny, and accidantely pissed them off and killed everyone. But whatever, I didn't want to side with them anyway. I'm gonna go with Yes-man, probably.

Killed Caesar? That's one of my favorite things to do. I put on some of the Ranger Veteran Armor (That sexy looking riot gear/duster/gas mask combo you see on the cover), load my bro Boone up with an anti-material rifle, then go to town on those tyrannical, murdering chucklefucks.

I think I pissed them off, becasue I had Boone with me. Didn't even get to talk to Caesar, but from what I've heard of him, fuck him. It was fun to do. Then I freed Benny, just to shoot him in the head right after. That wasn't as satysfying as I expected earlier in the game, though.
