The hunters were cannibals, and were gnawing down the human race. The Governor wasdefinitely the human race (though Rick didn't technically kill him, he was responsible for his downfall). Negan is literally threatening the human race. What the fuck? Are you serious? You really expected him to just let his son die? I see it as he destroyed something he cared about to save something he loved. Pretty badass. The hunters and cannibals were, arguably, surviving. Should they just give up and starve? The Governor wasn't threatening the human race, he was threatening Rick and the prison. Rick wouldn't have lifted a finger to stop him if he had been harassing someone else's group anyway. Negan is not literally threatening the human race. He's threatening a bunch of people in Washington D.C. He needs to eat a bullet, and soon, but survivors in other areas don't even know he exists. I'm fairly certain he can't really do anything to anyone outside of D.C. Yes, believe it or not, I AM serious. That wasn't badass. At no point did I ever say I expected him to let his son die. Nor did I even imply it. I simply said it was a sadistic choice, and nothing about that situation could make it good. Notice how I even said I respected Rick because he could do something as difficult as that. But it wasn't badass. I feel that our definitions of badass are just too different for us to make any headway on this issue. No. Rick wasn't eating people. He seemed to be doing just fine for food. The Governor was taking any random stranger and feeding them to walkers. He was a direct threat. Negan is threatening any human he can get his hands on, which, if he defeats Rick, then that means he can continue to do so. He'll likely eventually have to move. Bringing in a whole new group of people to threaten.

Bringing in a whole new group of people to threaten. The Governor was a threat to anyone wandering the Georgia backwoods, like a serial killer. He was staying put in Woodbury, or the Prison if he'd managed to defeat Rick's group. He wasn't going out to get people, eh was just killing random people that wandered into Woodbury. Like Rick. Negan has no way to threaten all of humanity. Like I said, he needs to get shot dead, but he'll never be able to threaten the entirety of the human race. Even if he does move on, there's no guarantee he'll find anyone else. There's no guarantee he'll even survive if he does move on. As of right now, he's firmly planted in D.C. and won't be going anywhere for a long while.

After coming across a goodie like the prison, you think the Governor would just leave the unexplored wasteland alone? Hell no. He'd continue to search for anyone. Negan is smart. He could totally be a serious threat.

He could totally be a serious threat. Yeah, actually, I do. He won't go tromping through the entire wasteland because he managed to find ONE nice spot to live. He never even would have known about it if not for Rick and Co. stumbling into his camp in full riot gear. Hell, if they hadn't been wearing armor, he might never have found the prison. He had a good thing going in Woodbury, and he knew it. Don't fix what ain't broke. As for Negan, he's smart, yes, but he's also arrogant. It'll be his downfall, if not by Rick then by somebody else.

But exploring is what found the prison. He would certainly continue, should he have really succeeded. Negan is arrogant, but rightfully so. Rick will probably take him down... Probably. But if he didn't, few others would have a chance.

But if he didn't, few others would have a chance. Why would he continue? Even if he'd managed to take the prison, why wouldn't he just set up shop there? The prison was even better than Woodbury. He'd be stupid to keep exploring and leave the prison behind. As for Negan, yeah, Rick probably WILL take him down. But saying that hardly anyone in the rest of the world could take on Negan seems a bit presumptuous, considering that we haven't even met any of them. They could all be bigger badasses than Rick for all we know.

Why would he not continue is the better question. He found such a goodie with Rick, who knows? He might find a mountain of food, or whatever. He could find people more efficiently as they become less and less common. He could find a stockpile of guns or many other things. He probably would set up shop, but then use that as a base for exploration. Going off of everyone that we've met as a base for the USA (Which, people in the western states are probably far more fucked than those in the east, due to hippies and gun laws), they're all fucked.

Actually, why WOULD he continue is my question. The prison had walls, it had space. They could grow their own food there, and with the supplies still stored in the prison combined with what they make themselves they could last for years. He never would have found that goodie if Rick, Glenn, and Michonne hadn't wandered into Woodbury wearing riot gear in the first place. Searching for something you know is there, in this case the prison, is far easier than simply exploring a wasteland and hoping to get lucky. Also, wouldn't it be people in the East who were more fucked? I admit to not knowing much about gun laws, but I remember reading about "gun free" zones in the east, specifically in the Maryland/D.C. area where the current Saviors arc is taking place. I would think that the more rural western states would be more lax with gun laws, since they have less people all crammed together in big cities (California excluded, of course).

Yep, still waiting on a sequel. American Nightmare was pretty good, but a sequel would be nice. Quantum Break will have to do for now.
