Sequel is in discussion."We just wrapped up Left Behind, and Bruce Straley, the game director, and I have been doing this for over four years now. So it's just time for a break, and to recharge the batteries," "We have started brainstorming some stuff. To be honest, some of them are sequel ideas, and some of them are brand new IP - we've spent the last few weeks brainstorming new IP. "So we have to get some good steps and see... It's kind of like how we approached Left Behind. Can we tell people a story that's really worth telling, and that's not repeating itself? And if we can't, where can we get inspired - what is something that's really going to challenge us, and push storytelling in this medium forward?"

Awesome! A sequel would be a great way to tie up loose ends. I don't wan't it turning into a series though, I just want a clear end to Joel and Ellie's story.

4 days.
Super duper excited. Hearing that it's about two hours is a little bit of a letdown, but that's only because I way overestimated the time frame when Naughty Dog announced it was "substantial" in length or something like that.
Read the comics, interested in seeing the Ellie/Riley friendship brought to life.

It is Naughty Dog, they definitely know what they're doing. They stopped making Jak before it got same-y, they've moved on to what seems like a new take on Uncharted. I think they'll only do TLOU2 if they think it'll be just as good. That's what happened with Jak. They were supposed to make Jak 4, but couldn't get a good angle on the project and made TLOU instead. Here's a quote I found on reddit: Anyways, they'll be backed by the hardware of the PS4, which means they'll be able to have more free-roam and less linear gameplay. By that I mean the gameplay should be similar, there might just be more routes to get to the same goal. Take the hotel in the first game, for example; you have to take the underground route. On the PS4 they probably would've had the resources to have an underground route, and overground route and probably a back alley or something. I guess there will be more weather effects and better graphics for immersion's sake, too.

Linear gameplay, but multiple routes to take.

By the way, Ken Levine confirmed on Twitter that yes, Burial at Sea Rapture is the Rapture from Bioshock 1, sorry to put this in the Last of Us thread, can't think of a better place.

Got an email from Amazon saying that I can't access the game right now because they're working out an issue with the product key with Sony. It should be fixed in 24 hours. Good fucking thing I didn't plan on playing until late tonight anyways otherwise this would have been horrific.

I know. It. Was. AWESOME!! I liked how they made the past segment purely story driven, and left the gameplay with a midquel in the Fall-Winter chapters. The best part had to be when Riley and Ellie are in the photo booth, and after they're done, a prompt comes up asking them to share to Facebook, and this little gem pops up.
Ellie: Facebook? What the hell is a Facebook?
Riley: I don't know. Maybe a book where they keep the faces?
