By the time Ben removed the hatchet, all the walkers had cleared out, and he grabbed the hatchet to help Ken with the door.
As for the telling Ken thing, Ben couldn't live with it anymore. He knew it was a bad idea, but he needed to get it off his chest right then and there.

You're telling me that he couldn't find the strength to wait until after they had escaped the horde of walkers?

Have you ever been responsible for the death of someone's family? No? Then you have no right to judge. You don't know how bad that feels.

Common sense would dictate that the hatchet was there FOR A REASON. Even IF the doors hadn't been practically painted in blood, when the door you escaped through barely an hour earlier is jammed shut with a hatchet that you specifically gave to another member of your group earlier in the night, most people would probably at least ASK if someone knew why it was there. All he had to do was ask Kenny if he knew anything about a hatchet between a pair of door handles, and Brie would be alive. There's really no excuse for the hatchet incident. I can understand the deal with the bandits, keeping quiet when Lilly was interrogating him and the group, even abandoning Clem, to a certain extent, but the hatchet thing is just... it's in a league of its own.

Was. One thing you need in the apocalypse is the ability to reuse things. They weren't doing anything at that point to attract walkers to the second story. It was reasonable to take the hatchet. Then the bell rang and he freaked out. Freaking out does not make you stupid. Plus, Kenny is the kind of guy to say, "Quit wasting time and fucking find me something!" I can see why Ben wouldn't want to ask permission for something that didn't seem necessary.

While they weren't doing anything to attract walkers at that moment, dollars to donuts that there were walkers close by. It hadn't bee all that long since Ken and Brie had fled up there, so there were walkers all over the lower floors. It was NOT reasonable to take the hatchet. Ben should have known simply from looking at the doors that it had been placed there for a reason. I never said that freaking out makes you stupid. I'd be jumpy too in that situation, and I never said anything about him being stupid simply because he was scared. There were plenty of reasons to be scared and jumpy... for instance, the walkers that were behind the door he unjammed. It shouldn't matter if Ken is a bit of a jackass, if you see the hatchet he had been using only a couple minutes ago jammed between some door handles, when said doors are covered in blood that hadn't been there the last time you were there, you should at least ask "Hey, did something happen to the doors out there? Why is that hatchet between the handles?" It's not that hard, especially in a situation that would set off alarm bells in anyone who had at least a bit of common sense.

What else was he going to take? You saw yourself, there was nothing close to a goddamned tool in the whole fucking building. Also, they've dealt with a lot of fucking walkers. So long as they aren't attracting them, the stragglers should be easy to deal with. It's not hard to go ask Ken, but Ken would consider it a waste of time, and he wouldn't give a fuck.

I'm sure he'd give a fuck if Ben was considering taking the hatchet out from the door handles. You know, considering that the hatchet saved Kenny's life from the huge group of walkers that had just been on the other side of the doors. Sure, so long as they aren't actively attracting the walkers it should be easy to deal with, but what happens if they don't deal with them? you know, because they don't know the walkers are there? Plus, it wasn't Ben that drew the walkers, it was the bell. It rang just as Molly and Lee were walking by the door. The hallway would have been swarming with zombies in minutes, if that. Sure, Ben had o way o knowing the bells would ring, but that is why you keep the hatchet in the door. To prevent any unpleasant surprises form ruining your day. Brie's day was ruined, that's for sure, because the hatchet had been removed. Ben nearly got them all killed through his stupidity.

Yeah, you know what else saved Kenny's life? Lee. Yet Lee's viable to be left under the door. The hatchet wouldn't matter anymore. Knowing Kenny, he'd ask if there were any more Walkers on or around the door, which Ben no doubt checked for. They would have dealt with them, though. Like when Lee dealt with that one big group of walkers. Everyone but Ben is pretty much capable of taking out any walkers they come across. You should be blaming Kenny here for sending Ben to get a tool. He didn't even use the fucking thing, he just kicked the door in which he should've done before sending Ben out to look for a goddamned tool.

The hatchet was the only thing keeping the hallway secured. Kenny isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and he can be a real prick, but he would probably tell Ben to leave it there because of the large amount of zombies that were, if anywhere, just down the stairs. If nobody had known the walkers were in the hall, then no, they wouldn't have dealt with them. Molly the Badass and Lee weren't able to deal with them when they broke in, they had to run back to the room. Molly almost died. She actually may have died, if Lee couldn't make the shot and Clem wasn't there. But that's not on Lee if it happens. It's on Ben. Brie DID die because the hatchet was removed. That's on Ben. None of that is on Kenny. He was probably refraining from kicking the door down because he didn't want to make any loud noises, the kind that kicked in doors tend to make, because of the hundreds of zombies in Crawford, and the dozens that were immediately below them.

We go from talking about colors to this.
We have no lives.

We go from talking about colors to this. We have no lives. Well, if Telltale would release the next Episode, we could go from talking about colors to talking about how Kenny returned or not/Nick accidentally shot Alvin/Pete made a peg leg from a toilet plunger/Rebecca decided to be a bitch again. It's not our fault. Although, the lives part is probably true, too. The central subject of this latest argument is a fucking hatchet.

No. The subject is Ben. Though you're right. No lives are present.

Also, Michael has Glenn-Blue subtitles. Ben's are a darker blue, like a lighter version of mine. Also, this is my new color, I meant to put this one but it was too bright in the room I was typing in I didn't notice.
