That story was pretty depressing. I think F451 will turn out in a similar way, as in it will be depressing.
Also, I hate poems too, Harp. I really do.

Cellist of Sarajevo was one of the few decent books I've been assigned to read for school. I would recommend it. Also, what I'm reading right now for school is "A lesson before dying". It makes me want to gag myself with a spoon. My school is weird. Divergent is kind of being read for school, but only for homeroom. In our English class, we're reading a shit ton of poems at the moment, and I fucking hate it. You have to read books for homeroom? Yeah, your school is weird. Also, *poem hating brofist*

Me and 3 other people read that story aloud to the class, and when I said, "that's my girl," to the girl saying Hazel's lines, the class erupted in laughter. Anyways, yeah, that was fucking depressing. I mean, poems CAN be cool, but most of them are shitty, and I hate how the teacher is trying to make us feel free in our work, but we are not fucking free. For example, we had to write a dystopian narrative, and they said that we can be as absolutely creative as we want! This sounded awesome until I read the small text. It has to be 4-7 pages It has to include a historical pattern The villain has to be based after one of these three totalitarian dictators and the list went on and on and on and on.

The first book we read was absolute fucking garbage, Gone by who gives a flying fuck. Divergent is actually cool, aside from the problem I listed... And the fact that the love interest is as bland as bread with a single pea of creativity lying on top.

They limited you to just three people to base it on? Wow. I can understand having some sort of historical pattern but limiting to one of three is just dumb. What were the other limitations on the list?

I would hate writing something like that. Thankfully, we had more freedom in my Creative Writing class. For instance, one assignment I remember said that we had to write a story with multiple perspectives. That was literally the only requirement. So I put four characters in it, killed two, maimed another, and killed the last one's best and only friend.

Since Mikey (and you) may want to read it, I'll put the outcome in spoilers: My main character dies, my villain gets shot in the head by one of the good guys after sobbing and begging for his life, and everyone involved in the upper class (I chose imperialism as my historic pattern) gets killed in an accident. Possibly including the one guy within the upper class that was cool.

I kinda want to be a writer someday. I'd write something post apocalyptic, because I seem to be good at that.

I like writing in general. One time, I wrote a story about a murderer getting out of prison, with everyone but his little brother hating him. The main plot revolved around him apologizing to the family of the man he murdered. The story ended with him committing suicide.
I scrapped it because I didn't like it.

I like writing in general. Except fanfiction, and poetry.
