Seems that something like Douglas fits more as it means 'Dark Stranger'.

This is why I don't think TT actually put that much work into these names. I don't think they were trying to hide some hidden meaning in them.
Nate is sure as hell not a gift from God and Lilly sure as hell ain't Pure.

And Lilly was based on the comic character, so TT couldn't change her name.

The meaningful aspect of Lilly's name isn't her first name it's her intended family name, which itself says something. Lilly was intended to be Lilly Caul from the comics and according to this site, Caul as a family name means "son of the battle chief." I think we all agree that that's a rather fitting name for Lilly.

But unfortnately, Kirkman decided to go "YOLO!" and make a damn novel about Lilly which made both Lilly and comic Lilly two different people.

But now they can bring her back, If they were the same person they wouldn't be able to do that.

But look at the good side, it means she can come back, and coming back almost 100% means death for someone we hated, and since there is nothing that will make me feel sad for her, I win!

Lilly-Purity. Nate-Gift of God. I don't think so. Lilly didn't seem to be much of a liar... And maybe this is a symbol from Telltale that Nate is going to be amazing next time we see him.
