Mirai was caught off guard by that before he turned to Isa.
"Did your thing? Did it work?" Mirai asked, referring to the memory ability.

Isa had been holding onto Mirai, concentrating, after a moment she stopped. "Do you feel any different? I should have given the memory element to you just now."
"It's not enough." Chastity said, standing up and dusting herself off. "If you go back in time, you'll be at a point in time before those memories were even created. Isa only succeeded last time because she sent the memories backwards herself before that time had been erased. If she had tried after it was erased, she wouldn't have anything to remember. There'd be nothing there.
Of course, if you did have a way to accomplish that, that wouldn't be a problem anymore, would it? The only thing is that you would need to decide who would remember this past week before you leave."
Murasaki hadn't put her blade away, her head was cast downwards, like she was thinking. Dawntree also looked on edge, but much more certain than she was.

"...I was able to maintain memories of past events just fine without needing elements. Before I decide, I will try it on someone to make sure it works." Mirai decided.
He turned around, looking at Evangeline, walking up to her and held her wrist.
When he did, Evangeline's eyes turned white for a moment as he was transferring into her head memories of the commune when he first visited with Isa.
Around then, Evangeline was with Parov and Ash, the three were working on a new song for Mariam. During the conversation, she was briefly distracted by the appearance of a weird cloaked kid and a little girl who were chasing after a glowing dragonfly before Ash called her out and stopped focusing on them.
Then right after that, a bunch of guys from the Balanque Kingdom showed up looking for them, everything was covered in mist and Evangeline's mind went blank at that moment. When she woke up, the battle was over and the commune was a mess. Apparently, some demon creep infiltrated himself into everyone's bodies, including herself and Magna.
Evangeline collapsed on her butt and her glasses fell on the ground.
"...Woah, that was one hell of a trip right there. Definitely better than weed, that's for sure." Evangeline commented, laughing to herself.
"What did you see?" Mirai asked.
"...Well, apparently, just like you said, this wasn't the first time those Balanque creeps attacked us but they summoned some creepy demon dude who was literally inside my body, that's gross and rude, how do you just take over someone's body without asking for their permission first?" Evangeline asked.

"...Grody." Parov muttered.
"Well, there we go." Chastity stated.
Dawntree looked at everyone present, "So-... that's it then? We're just accepting this?
We're seriously giving up?" He asked, turning his attention to Evangeline, Chastity, Parov, Ama... Murasaki.
Chastity shook her head, "I haven't given up at all." She stated, adjusting her glasses. Murasaki was staring right at Mirai for a moment... then turned her attention to Isa and Hannah.
"... Progress h-has been made." Murasaki stated. "I a-accomplished my previous mission, Phoebe is safe. Y-You defeated the Rain emperor. Deborah was d-defeated as well. I-I even heard that, a girl from here and that N-Nemea woman, the Shima islands and o-other places conquered by the Rain kingdom have been reclaiming their independence. This hasn't all been losses.
I'm not comfortable l-letting that all go back the way it was." Murasaki admitted.

Mirai was silent before he looked at everyone else.
"...You guys might think I'm a coward for doing this, that going back in time is the same as giving up, but in my eyes, it isn't. If I decided not to use the eye at all even when I have the chance to do so, that means that I'm giving up on the people who deserve a second chance, who could make things even better than they are now. Not everyone is dead but what will happen after today? Or tomorrow? How do you think everyone will react to the deaths of those who were in the Stoneson Kingdom, for all I know, their loved ones will join forces to get revenge on us and the cycle will never end. And I'm not comfortable with burdening another person with our problems by letting them carry the elements, that wouldn't sit right with me at all no matter how many ways Magna can justify that. From my perspective, giving up is when you stop trying and accept that life is tough and you should let everything bad happen to you and don't even stand up to fight yourself, in this case, I'm not fighting just for myself but for everyone who has died here aswell, Mariam included." Mirai said.
He turned to Murasaki.
"Deborah and Jan had been defeated before I went back in time, I wasn't even there when he and Shinko were defeated so it's possible we can deal with them again for a third time. I don't even look forward to doing this all over again for a third time but I can still hope that with everyone's help, we will be able to surpass all the obstacles that came before us and look forward to the true future that is waiting for us beyond this war. Maybe this time I will succeed or I will fail again, but I won't know unless I try. After I managed to deal with my guardian's curse problem, I think anything can be possible." Mirai continued.
He then turned to Hannah.
"...I will protect Mariam till the very end and I will make sure that by the end of this, you two will get to live your own lives as ordinary girls, not maidens." Mirai said.

Hannah looked at Mirai, and nodded her head.
"... Hey, I'm for it, man." Parov told him.
"I-... didn't think about it like that." Dawntree admitted. "Hey, you know what? I'll remember it then.
I think if I remember Magna trying to attack you just now- or what Opus pulled during the Colorado attack, it might make things easier for you guys on the next go around." Dawntree guessed.
Murasaki turned away. "... If that's true..." She put her blade back on her belt.

Mirai turned to Ama.
"...What do you think?" Mirai asked.

Murasaki was still looking at Mirai, her hand was still hovering near her blade even after she had put it back. Whilst Dawntree had already closed his eyes and sat down. Parov standing by as Chastity turned away, adjusting her glases.
Isa turned her head slightly. "..."
"... This is the right way to do this." Hannah said. "It's better than... what that woman saw.
Do it, Mirai."
The sun had risen, completely.

Mirai turned to Isa.
"Before I do this. I din't tell you...but, when I said I dealt with the curse during the fight with Izanagi, I actually sealed it so it wouldn't bother me, I still could feel it inside me but after you finally told me the truth back there...I can no longer feel it. You did manage to make the curse go away without using the elements to do so in the end." Mirai said.

"T-That's..." Isa paused, unable to say anything else.
Instead she ran up and hugged Mirai with as much power as she could.
Chastity closed her eyes and started walking away, catching Parov's attention as she went away from the group and further over the walkways and platforms. She gave a brief wave in their direction without turning to look at anyone.

Mirai accepted Isa's hug in return before he removed his arms from her.
"When I'm back in the forest, after Blasco and his soldiers leave, we will meet up, okay?" Mirai asked.
