As Mirai left, running from sight... The door remained open.
Hannah seated in one chair with the door to her right, Chastity with her back to the door. For a brief moment, as Hannah watched Mirai make his exit... Chastity was looking straight at her with a pair of purple eyes. Purple eyes that turned moss-green as soon as Hannah turned her attention back to the only person left to talk to.
Hannah placed both of her hands on the table, letting the feather pen fall onto the piece of paper she had written on just then. "...Chastity, about what I said..."
"About you wanting to give me your elements, now that you're done with them?" Chastity asked.
"Yeah, that. ... Do you mind if we do that now?" Hannah asked.
"Hannah, if you're serious about this... I should tell you something first. I'm sure you're, on some level, aware of it, but I wouldn't feel right otherwise, and I wouldn't want you to blame yourself if something went wrong." Chastity said, placing a hand on the table as well. Her other hand was occupied fidgeting with a loose strand of hair.
"Something went wrong, like what?"
"... Hannah, the first thing I should say is... at this stage, I'm almost convinced that maidens don't actually exist." Chastity stated, "But, there is always the possibility I am wrong. That there's something that separates you from Zoya, from Elton, from Suzanne, from Noriaki and from me.
If that's the case and I'm incorrect, there is a chance that giving me all of your elements could endanger me."
Hannah let out a sigh, "I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, though."
"More than that." Chastity tucked that loose strand of hair behind her ear, "There's another thing.
It's accepted that the elements affect not only the environment, but also the people who use them. To offer you an example, I'll use myself. I'm more aware of everyone's emotions around me than I had been prior, but I would not say this is a positive change in me.
I'm aware, but I also have the power to change that with a thought, it hasn't made me more empathetic, not more than I already was. It's simply given me the ability to control that."
Chastity briefly looked down, to the figures on the map on the table. The ones that hadn't been updated in a while. She picked up a figure that represented Jubal, holding it in her hand and then stabbing it with her fingernail. "I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of why the Song family are the way they are.
The powers they had available to them were all geared towards changing how other people thought. It would explain both how they're so manipulative... and how everyone at a distance from them can see right through it. Having those powers meant they never had to actually perfect those skills in order to use them."
"... Do you think that's affected Isa in some way, as well?" Hannah asked.
"It's possible. I noticed she was wearing Mnemosyne's ring, after all." Chastity said. "...But, this theory does have several points against it.
Originally, the songs only had the elements from their temples. Those other abilities came with Mnemosyne, after the Blair kingdom surrendered their land and their people alike." Chastity pushed her entire finger through the piece, severing it in half.
"... This is interesting and all, but... what's the point here?" Hannah asked.
"I'm saying, even if I can handle every element you give me, I may change as a result." Chastity stated. "If you're okay accepting that, then I'm okay receiving them." She said, holding a hand out.
Hannah held her own out as well. "I-... I think you'll be fine." She said.
Both of their hands met and they got ready to shake. One elbow rested on the table each. Hannah's own hand started glowing...
red.Negation.
In a instant; Chastity's entire form was covered with negation and scattered away, revealing Chastity's true self sitting in that chair with her gun pointed at Hannah's forehead. The dissected Jubal disappeared as well, revealing the true figure had never even been moved from the map.
What had been negated just then wasn't Chastity, but a illusion occupying the same space as her.In the same second, Chastity's own gun was glowing with grey negation energy; which she fired and destroyed the image of Hannah- revealing Isa, who was spared from the gunshot by her smaller height, leaning over the table. The feather pen and the written words on that piece of paper vanished as well, in reality;
that paper was completely bare."As I thought-" Chastity said, covering herself with invulnerability just as spears made of diamonds shot at her point blank- shattering and scattering to the floor beneath them as the woman with the gun rolled from her seat. "- You never left the building at all.
That Hannah was just-" a wall of diamonds shot up at the open exit; blocking Chastity's way out. "- a fake perception. You're using sound right now to make sure nobody hears us, aren't you?" She asked. "... After all the effort you went through to make sure Mirai was out looking for you somewhere else entirely.
And I bet you did all of that because you didn't want him to see what you were about to do next, wasn't it? Remove him from the scene, and yourself by proxy, as he's looking for you in the jungle."
Isa glared. "... You're the reason I'm acting like this."
"I am?"
"Because you have the powers Mariam had. You're making me angrier than I'm supposed to be." Isa told her. "You've been trying to turn everyone against me this entire time- and you've been making it so I'm getting more stressed, more unreasonable and more aggressive to help push everyone away from me.
And I can't even blame them!"
"Is that what's happening here? How interesting..." Chastity commented.
The house shook, Isa stumbled slightly- sending more spears of diamonds and a blast of sand towards Chastity; who's invulnerability got destroyed by the onslaught. She ducked down beneath the attacks as a spear sliced across her arm, sliding until she was behind Isa- between her and a wall of paintings and bookcases. Isa turned around and a series of glowing yellow strings shot from her fingers; which were destroyed when Chastity covered herself with negation- pointing the gun at Isa and firing a negation shot- which Isa dodged by jumping onto the table.
The house beneath them shook again, as miles below them... at the very base of the swamp, the pillars holding the building up shook as the ground beneath them cracked.

... Mirai wasn't finding Isa at all.
